I have completed the grid and found the message from the initials of down clues but the name of the artist's work is certainly unusual and I have no idea about it.

Look carefully at the preamble and for repeated words in the grid.

The artist and the work are very famous. The name is in the artist's language

yes. there is a apostrophe between the first and second letter of the name of the artwork

Cold solving going fairly well but struggling to break into the grid. Do the first four across solutions fit into the first two rows?

That's where I've put them bobbycollins. I've got the top of the grid completed but am struggling with the bottom four rows at the moment.
