What is the starting letter of the second deity.
I know of Horus, Thoth, Khnum but they do not fit.

Help needed with "Some disgusting sticky substance".
I've had MOSE written in for last 24 hours, but I've filled the grid and back-solved the name of the artwork, so that now I have ?IST, with the I as an extra. It looks like it should be UIST, but I can't find that as a "sticky substance". All and any hints, including the answer, would be welcome.

The hidden part of the substance clue is GST missing one letter.

I thought this was very good, although I agree with some of the comments that some of the clues were slightly over engineered. I still can’t see the word play for the second across clue, despite ionacarrs hint earlier in the thread. Could someone tell me the abbreviation for priest and Christ that it uses?

My other slight annoyance is I only have 19 missing letters. As far as I can see the title has 14 letters, 5 of which appear in across and down clues (u, t, u, i, a) and the other 9 are unchecked, which gives me 19 clues.

I have solved only a few clues.
But 2a was one of the first ones I solved by luck.
This is how I arrived at the answer.
If my answer is correct.....
Chasm = Hollow. Christ = Ch and Priest = P.
L is missing.
The meaning is mould.
