I see in the Times that Bon Jovi reported that Bayern shellacked Chelsea, after spending the previous evening sipping whisky with him.

Would that help Rovers?

Most Rovers supporters need a good stiff drink before and after our games!

I`ve cast my vote in the leadership election - the online voting method was different - it involved `dragging & dropping` the candidate`s name into a box - not sure all the older members are familiar with this!

Thanks. I can think of a few people that I would like to drag and drop into a box.........not necessarily on a ballot paper.

I`ve forced myself to learn how to use a computer - some of the terminology is so ugly ... forward slashes, floppy discs, hard drives etc ... I thought it was `dragon drop` the first time I heard the expression!

There were three names on the ballot but you could only squeeze two into the box - I left RLB where she was.

Presenter on Radio 4 Today Prog this morning spoke about `A Afghan Government` ... I can only think the Beeb is trying to reach out to younger people by adopting their ( often ) poor grammar.

I saw this and thought of you. It's from today's Times...

18 A. She's spotted sign, ad press broadcast (10).

I don't make New Year resolutions, but I decided I'd try, really try, to be a bit less pedantic. It's hard at times, but I'm doing my best. I did get irritated (not aggravated) during the week while watching a programme on BBC. It involved the police interviewing suspects and we sometimes got subtitles as the answers were occasionally mumbled. It was infuriating to read that someone had 'taken off on a peddle bike' and someone else had 'recieved' something.

Thanks for the leopardess clue. I didnt do the crossword on Saturday.

There have been a lot of -ess clues recently, my favourite being "protectress", and another one today! Also 3 "cat " clues which I enjoyed.

You addressed the note to Jigjag also, but I haven't seen him post anything for several weeks. I hope he is OK as I am missing his stories.

Grunger,

Thanks - the '-esses' have definitely featured quite often recently. I don't remember the 'cat' clues, but I know I had a couple of cricket clues in the past few weeks.

Yes, I too miss Jigjag's food and market reports.

Assess featured in the `Skeleton` on Sunday, just for a change, they also mistakenly put the number of letters after the clues - I never noticed until I`d nearly finished!

Yes a good win against the baggies - I think the jitters are setting in.
There was a lovely `goldenballs` after the footy last night after Wolves won at Spurs ... `Yes we`re really in the moment, at the moment`

The `Colemanballs` should have read ... `Yes we`re in a good moment, at the moment`
