99. Sorry to be a damp squib folks, but I cannot accept 'tureens' since it is an unnecessary plural. Nor does 'keepnet' satisfy since it is definitely IN a river, as others have pointed out. 'Keep' is 'hold on to' and 'catch is 'net' but I think 'suspended ' might suggest something omitted. And a hold (on a ship) is a container?

I have been stuck on my last one 99,Leslie, for over a week but that is a new thought a hold in a ship. Like Badger4 and several others I do not like answers tried up to now. Have been doing Rainbow quizzes almost since they started and the clues are always very specific. Must keep on trying!! And this last one is very trying!!

Am still having trouble solving following clues.
No.6 I have come up with the name of a type of game played in golf
No.62 for this I have another name for trap + container.
No.71 although I have taken on board previous hints I'm still none the wiser.
Can anyone tell me if I'm on right track with 6 & 62 and would appreciate any help with 7l
Thanks

I think you are wrong with number 6.
B = black followed by some birds. Woods are used in the game that is your answer.

A littlewhile since I have reviewed this thread, which has now reached epic proportions!
Like eveyone else, I think I am nearly there apart from a couple, but would appreciate thoughts on
45 - this must surely be pot of gold, but I cannot for the life of me see why!
61 - a bicycle attachment fits the clue, but is hardly an ambulance? Any other theories?
78 - The anagram I have (of 'are apt') is a saucer or dish; nothing to do with clothes!

Still cogitating on 99...

Hi Alan
45) look at the first letters of first 4 words - then look at picture on quiz.
61) take the top (first letter) off spanner, add an I and look it up - most surprising!
78) I got patera as well - and agree it does not fit the clue! Any help much appreciated on this one.

45. Leonard Only Goes Out - take the initials LOGO to be found in Pot Of GOLd

61. You need to follow the clues literally - take the top off spanner i.e. remove the S, then it tells you I get inside. Check out the word you get.

I notice that none of the 'tureens' or 'keepnet' protagonists have posted a defence of their choice. Are they haveing second thoughts?
