Still struggling with 84 - come up with a couple of words around cash/cach but they don't quite fit. American money slang doesn't quite do it as can't see the connection to Ashes. Can anybody help at this late stage??
84 4-letter word meaning to put money on + abbrev. for English + last letter of another word as indicated in the clue.
Scottish word for a trough for carrying ashes coals, etc. (new word on me but in my Chambers dict.)
