Hello, Elle,
There may be money in it for the gas fitter for scrap value, or parts. I do not know.
No divided loyalties.
I do not think either Catriona or Charley are good enough to win.
I do NOT want Suzann Pettersen to win.
Lexie or Lydia would do me fine.
I like Brooke Henderson of Canada, too.
But I am not too fussed really.
Strange looking top Lexie has on, for USA.
Seems to be bits missing across her back.
Been quite warm here today.
Hearing it was 27°C at Kinlochewe, which is quite a bit North of here.

Hi, Rusty!
Goodness, where has the evening gone?
After stories, we got the boys to bed - and then they read for half an hour to themselves.
They are very good at switching off the light at the instructed time !
Then both daughters rang.........almost one after the other!
After chatting to each in turn, I then washed my hair.
Attempting to straighten it, takes time!!
We haven't even had dinner yet!
I must go and sort out something that can be either microwaved or grilled!
Has your golf finished? How did it go?

Hello, Elle.
No, the golf lasts for four days.
They play 18 holes each day.
Be Saturday evening before we know who has won.
GB's Charley Hull is going along nicely.
Better than I thought she may.
She's only 20.
Do you have a separate grill?
50 years ago tomorrow HRH Queen Mother opened our road bridge.
I remember it!
There is some sort of celebration at the weekend.
Not sure what.

Hmmm, with four-day golf and six-day bicycle racing it's all becoming rather Thurberesque isn't it.

Good morning, Rusty!
We have a cooler day today and a faint threat of rain.
We have a quiet morning planned, and then will go out to a park or the woods this afternoon with children and dog.
Yes, fortunately my cooker has two sections - a grill and an oven.
The grill is still working. It is the timing mechanism that has failed the oven, and has also affected its manual start.
Shall you go to the Road Bridge celebrations at the weekend?
If I get chance this morning - in between playing board games with the boys! - I shall try to catch up on some of the athletic events that I have missed.
Do you have any plans for the day?

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here!
I have no idea what celebrations are planned for the weekend.
I just know they are on!
But, no, I will not participate.
I was a campaigner to have the tolls removed for crossing the bridge.
My celebration was having a toll-free bridge, when it eventually came about.
It does not sound as if there is much wrong with your cooker.
Pity your repairman let you down.
No plans for the day.
I'll keep tabs on the Olympic golf though.
And young Charley Hull is going along very well indeed.
She has pleasantly surprised me!

Hi, Rusty!
No, there is no possibility of the oven being repaired - so it is as well the repair man didn't show up.........at least we were saved a fruitless call-out charge!
Seemingly, the model is so old it has become obsolete (!) - and there are no longer parts with which to effect repairs.
We cannot grumble - it has provided excellent service for a very good number of years!
(Hence my decision to go with the same company!)
It seems that soon we shall have all new appliances! Everything has gradually died a natural death!
We already have new (ish) washing machine and tumbler dryer, then a new fridge and freezer only last week, and now a new cooker!
Hopefully - fingers crossed - that should be it for a while!
I am becoming all played out with board games - I thought staying in for the morning would be a rest!
I guess it is at least a 'physical' rest if not a 'mental' one!
Good for Charley Hull! Is she good enough to get a medal?

Hello, Elle!
Charley may be good enough to win a medal but there is a lot of strength in depth in the field.
She is playing with Lydia Ko and Anna Nordqvist today.
She is only young yet, but so are Ko, Henderson, etc.
Seems to be a young woman's game nowadays.
And many top players from Asia.
You will be looking forward to the new cooker!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Yes, the ladies' golf does seem to consist of relative "youngsters".
Good luck to them all!
I haven' t had chance at all to look in on any of the Athletics events...I have been tied up with the children all the time - and it doesn't help having most of the track and field events being shown in the early hours of the morning!
Is there anything "strange or startling" happened that I should know about?
We are away now to Crystal Palace Park.......I thought the boys would like to see the Dinosaur Park and the "new" appearance of the (six) Sphinxes!
Back in time for tea!

Good afternoon, Elle,
Catriona Matthew is the oldest lady playing.
I have not been looking at Olympics today.
I shall keep an eye on the golf though.
I am not aware of anything going on, apart from American swimmers being removed from an aeroplane to help police "with enquiries".
And Trotty says that Jason and her are getting married in September but she is not letting on where or when!
I wish the two of them all the best.
They are good people!
Next "highlight" for me is Peter Sagan in Mountain Bike Cross Country event.
And the men's marathon.
I agree about the timing of athletic events.
Strange how the cycling was on at sensible times, and so is the golf?
