Hello, Elle,
I did not know that about badminton.
I liked watching it.
Track cycling is finished.
Golds for Trotty and Jason Kenny.
Another silver for Becky James.
Bronze for Katy Marchant.
Pity about repairman.
Is there a plan B?

Good morning, Rusty!
A beautiful day - very warm already.
My friend has taken the dog out this morning - the children are enough to handle!
We are planning a picnic today!
We shall go on the tram , I think.
The boys will enjoy that.
Well done to our cycling team! They all did very well
I haven't had chance to catch up with any of the Athletics - I might manage a quick run through this morning, before we go out, if I am lucky.
I haven't got a Plan B regarding the cooker!
The problem will have to be put on hold until after the boys go home on Saturday.
Then I think another visit to Currys or similar will be next on the Agenda.
I don't think British Gas have any showrooms any more?
And I don't want to order online without first seeing what I am purchasing.
In the meantime......thank goodness for the microwave!
What are you up to?

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here.
Every track cyclist in Team GB, who rode, won a medal.
Laura Trott was superb.
Trotty is the star of the games for me.
And Simone Biles was wonderful, too.
So, it's a gas cooker?
No return call from the repair man?
Not good.
It is Scottish Gas up here, but I can't think of a showroom.
Curry's and B&Q sell gas cookers.
No plans for me, but the ladies golf starts today in Rio.
I'm looking forward to seeing Lydia Ko etc.
Catriona Matthew and Charley Hull are representing GB, so we shall see!

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, five minutes peace! I am "allowing" the children to watch television for half an hour"! (upstairs!)
It is in my interests rather than theirs!
They have been with me since I got up just before 6am!
I am already flagging.........!
The trouble with the cooker is that I want a gas hob and also a gas oven.
The appliances are built- in to the kitchen unit and worktop and so the new one needs to be of the same dimensions as the old.
It also needs to be white.
All in all, not an easy task to find what I require.
We shall need a Gas fitter to fix it all, too.
I am intending that we shall leave for the picnic about 11 o/clock.
I know from experience that the minute we arrive the boys will want to eat!
You sound all set for a good day - what time does the golf start?

Hello, Elle,
Make sure you get a properly gas qualified engineer to install your new equipment, if you choose to replace your cookers.
Have you given up on the repair man?
Is there a Trusted Traders scheme in your area?
Your council will be able to tell you.
Or, they do up here anyway.
They are listed with their reviews.
Ovens etc come under Domestic Appliance Repairs.
I have around 6 to choose from.
I'd imagine you to be the same?
I think the golf starts around 11 on Red Button.
Great weather here,

All genuine gas fitters must be registered with "Gas Safe" (used to be called corgi) and show their registration which you can check out on the registration site

Good afternoon, Rusty!
We have had a lovely picnic!
We went to one of our big parks, on the tram - which the boys thought very exciting!
The dog came too!
It was extremely hot but we found a seat in the shade (for us "oldies") and the boys camped on the ground.
There is a terrific children's playground within the grounds so that was a "hit"!
Now.... I had a brainwave this morning!
I decided to phone New World - from whom we bought our previous (now apparently extinct) cooker. I told them my model number and that I wanted an up-to-date built-in replacement of the same dimensions .........
"Leave it to us", the very helpful lady said.......
"Give me some details and we shall see what we can do........"
So I did ...and she did.....
The new oven and hob will arrive next Monday.
We have to wait till mid October for the extractor fan as it is out of stock. But that is no problem.
Now I have to find a fitter.......I shall ask our local builders (whom we know very well) if they can recommend a gas fitter.
Failing that , Jazzgirl very kindly left me a link.
All in all, I think I have done a good day's work!
How is your day going?
What progress in the golf?

Hi, Jazzy!
Thank you very much for the link!
Much appreciated!
I have saved it in Favourites!

Good afternoon, Elle.
I do not know New World, but you seem to have done well.
Are they taking the faulty one away?
If your builder recommends a fitter that should be OK.
Make sure he has the Gas Safe triangle on his van.
"Trust the Triangle"!
Jazzgirl's link will be fine, too.
Very early days in the golf.
Inbee Park and Lexie Thompson were leading.
Charley Hull and Catriona Matthew of GB going along nicely.

Good evening, Rusty!
I have fed, watered and scrubbed clean, the boys!
They do not go to bed until 8 o'clock and then they read for half an hour before putting out the light.
I can highly recommend New World cookers as ours has lasted us literally for years! And we have never had any trouble until its gradual demise over the last few weeks!
I have looked up the Gas Safe link and we have a lot of gas fitters in our area.
I shall hope that the builders will be able to recommend a specific person, as otherwise I shall not know whom best to pick.
I'm hoping that the fitter will take the old cooker away, Rusty, as it will have to be dismantled .
It won't be a job for the delivery men.
How are the British golfers doing?
Are you feeling divided loyalties here? I know that Lydia and Lexie are favourites of yours!
