Hello, Elle!
Trotty and co broke the world record earlier.
The mens sprint team go for gold at 10.21ish.
Yes, my son was here.
Every bus conductress I ever met was known for backchat!
Lisa would be good at that!

Hi, Rusty!
That is great news about GB's victory in the team sprint!
I am very pleased to hear it!
I heard earlier that the Olympic velodrome is in very poor condition and that cracks had to be filled with tissues and then taped over, but that the use of the velodrome would go ahead.
It all sound so shoddy and surely potentially dangerous?
Rio sounds a shambles!

Good morning, Elle,
Sprinters were super!
There could be more golds to come on the track.
Trotty and co are flying in the pursuit, and so are Ed Clancy and the men's pursuit team.
Looking forward to Laura Trott in the omnium, too.
I have not heard what that track is made of?
The best ones are usually made of Siberian Pine.
And there is a high degree of skill in laying it properly.
I agree that these Games are a bit second rate.
It certainly does not match London!
The golf course looks like a work in progress.
And poor crowds.
I am being collected by two granddaughters for lunch later.
That will be the day's highlight!

Good morning, Rusty!
A lovely day - we had an enjoyable walk!
I think my dog was glad to be away from an over -enthusiastic pup for a couple of hours!
Although the cat has now decided to intervene and declare himself King of the roost!
He waded in to defend dog from pup this morning! One hiss and a smack, and pup backed off and left dog alone!
Cat is being given a bravery award later!
The gold medals are coming along nicely now, aren't they?
I am looking forward to seeing some Athletics at some stage today.
I notice that this evening, there is cycling sandwiched between two bouts of Athletics, so you will be well off for viewing prospects!
Where shall you go for lunch with your granddaughters?

Hello, Elle!
Pretty windy up here.
I think we shall go to Pine Cone.
I hope to be home in time to see Jo Pavey.
Jess Varnish was on TV again today.
I hope the cyclists do well.
I want to see the Americans in the pursuit.
Apparently they have the chainring on the left hand side of the bike and find it much faster that way.
It will be far too complicated for me to understand!

Hi, Rusty!
I hope I have caught you in time before you go out for lunch?
Do you know what time Jo's race is taking place?
I tried Googling it, but couldn't find it.
Jo has said that she took part in a race at her son's school - and came last!
She blames carrying a beanbag on her head, for that!
I hope she does well in the Olympics!
If anyone deserves another medal, she does!
Fingers crossed, too, for Jess and KJT!
Gold and silver in the Heptathlon would be nice!
Enjoy your lunch with the girls!

Hello, Elle,
Think Jo goes at 3.10.
I am on plan B.
The girls want to come here rather than go out.
Now, Jess and KJT.
There is a very good Canadian in that event.
No guarantee of gold for GB.
It is quite blustery here.
I have not seen Lassie the last two days and there was a crow in the nest yesterday.
There is a bit in my paper today about ospreys not too far from the loch who have raised 4 chicks.
Three is unusual, but four is very rare indeed!

Hi, Rusty!
So are you responsible for providing lunch for the girls then?
Or are they bringing it with them?
I expect you are thinking of Canadian Brianne Theisen-Eaton - yes, she is a great athlete.
And her husband, Ashton Eaton should do very well, too, in the Decathlon!
A talented couple!
But I am rooting for Jess and Kat!
I have seen how blustery it is up your way, from looking in on the ospreys!
An empty nest was all I saw......
Right, time to make a coffee....... and go and sit down to watch the action......
