Hi there Elle and Rusty (and everyone!)

Just had a look in on the ospreys - one chick with a fish in the nest, think it's the little male.
The last blog report on the 10th mentions that the family was still complete then.
It looks wild!

Lovely warm day here and a very very busy market on this long week-end - (Monday is a holiday - Virgin Mary's day)
Professional firework display on the canal organised by the town on Sunday, and 'granary in the street' on Monday. Weather is set to be sunny and hot.

Hello, Elle,
I do not think the rain will stop anything.
No lunch for the girls and me, we just had a natter.
It is quite blustery here.

Hello, Pigale,
I am wondering if Lassie has gone?
You are doing well with the weather!

Hi, Rusty!
Did you watch the women's 10,000m?
What a race!
The leading athletes were running so fast that they were lapping other competitors very easily.
The winner, Avana from Ethiopia, became World Champion with a New World Record!
Jo did very well! She completed her fifth Olympics (at 42) and came in first of the British runners.
(I think she was about two minutes behind the winner).
I am now watching the high jump of the heptathlon on my computer.
I hope you had a good natter with your granddaughters!

Hello, Pigale!
Your weekend sounds as thought it will be interesting.
Will you go to the fireworks display?
What is "granary on the street"?
Your village is always having events!
It must be a friendly place to live?

Hello Elle!

Yes, the village is very friendly and Spring and Summer see quite a few events. It is somewhat quieter in the winter - except for Christmas Market!

I should have said 'Loft in the street' as this is precisely what it is - you go to your loft and get out everything you do not want, go to the field by the river where it takes place and sell (at cheap price) what you would otherwise have to ditch at some point.

We had our 'brocante' recently as you know, but this is much more 'villagers only' orientated.

I will watch the fireworks (11pm!) at home from my terrace - I live on a hill and thus have a beautiful view. and I will probably go to the 'grenier dans la rue' !

Good evening, Elle.
Very suspicious 10,000!
Where did that run come from?
Katarina and Jess going along nicely.
Still very poor crowds.
I have the cycling this night.
Should be good.
Maybe even a medal or two.
And it's good to see Sir Chris out there cheering them on.
The rowers are doing very well, I think.
Just la Bamba came to see me.
Yes, we had a great natter!
We get on very well.

Good evening, Rusty!
The speeds and times of the 10,000m were incredible!
I wonder how the records will be regarded....with all the hype about drug testing etc, will the medal winners of each event automatically be tested?
Btw, I forgot to mention that in that event, Mollie Huddle came sixth and smashed the American record!
Yes, Jess and KJT are doing well!
Did you watch Kat in the high jump?
She and Naffissatou (?spelling) Thiam of Belgium were the joint World Heptathlon/ Olympic hepathlon best - jumping 1.98!
And gaining 1211 points for the competition.
Most impressive!
Oops! I'm missing Eggheads!
Enjoy the cycling........

Hello, Elle!
I suppose they will accept the new record.
As we have seen in the lead up to the games, the powers that be are not too fussed about dopers.
I have not seen the high jump.
I can't watch much TV, so I shall wait on the cycling later this evening.
Want to see the new American bikes!

Hi, Rusty!
I watched Eggheads, but I shan't watch anything else tonight.
The next Athletics session will be too late, so I shall record it, and hopefully fit in watching it before the start of tomorrow's events.
Daughter has gone out to dinner at a friend's, so we are in charge of pup - whom the cat is now ruling with a rod of iron.
Every time the puppy pesters the dog, the cat rushes to her rescue!
I kid you not!
It is wonderful to see!
I could rent him out?
As a puppy trainer?
I hope the cycling goes well! and that we win some more medals!
We are doing quite nicely....fourth on the medal table last I heard?

Hello, Elle,
Ed Clancy and pursuit team have just broken the world record.
Barring accidents (and they often happen in cycling!) they are looking good for gold.
Jason Kenny and young Callum Skinner have the two fastest times in the sprint.
Looking good for the cycling team.
Good for the cat!
I wonder if Laura Muir is running today.
I expect no less than a PB from her and see where that leaves her!
I watched the bouncing competition earlier.
Never seen it before.
Britain got a silver with Bryony (I forget her surname)
