Hi, Rusty!
Gosh, I could get hooked on this adrenaline rush!!!
(A good job I have firm principles! Watching it is enough excitement!)
I think you could well be right - Cue Card looked all set to come clear of the others had he not fallen.
I guess racing is always a gamble in more ways than one!
But Victoria.......I shall be on a high all evening!
The Athletics may well prove to be an anti-climax........
Incidentally, what news about the Olypmics and the Zika virus?

Hello, Elle!
It was exciting all right.
I was pleased Nina won, but Victoria was just astonishingly good! Fair play to her, she has worked very hard since she took up the Betfair challenge and hopefully has shut John Francome up!
She has fallen in love with the racing game.
Wonder what she will try next!
The fences are there to be jumped and Cue Card made a mess of one. Maybe he will head to Punchestown now.
And, honours even in the overall result from Cheltenham.
Britain 14 Ireland 14.
There is athletics on Eurosport this evening.
I cannot find the curling on TV though.

Hi, Rusty!
There are Athletics on BBC1 as well, but not until 12.30 AM!
It goes on until about 4am tomorrow morning, so I shall record it!
This will be Day 2 though? and I have found further coverage for Days 3 and 4, showing on Sunday.
But whatever happened to Day One? - that seems to have slipped under the radar?
I cannot find it anywhere?
Is it on Eurosport?
As there is a draw between Ireland and Britain re the numbers of winners trained by Irish and Brits at Cheltenham, what will happen to the trophy?

Hello, Elle!
I have no idea about the trophy!
Maybe it resides at Cheltenham all the time?
Maybe they should give it to Vic for being a "jolly good sport"?
Eurosport offers very good coverage of athletics.
Wonder is Laura Muir running?
No sign of the curling on any station.
There has not been very many posts on the forum today?
Are the puzzles getting easier?

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine day here - temperatures middling! Supposedly a maximum of 6C at some point!
Have you been out yet for your paper?
You have the cycling today, don't you?
What time is it showing?
I have several hours of Athletics to catch up on! !
I watched some of Day One last night on the Red button (before I fell asleep whilst so doing!!) but I recorded Day 2 in the small hours, so have that yet to see!!
I learned a new word yesterday from one of the crosswords...."brio"..... it means vigour, vivacity - I have never come across it before! Do you know it?
Ok, now for a coffee and the Times Jumbo GK!

Hi elle
Those who have played a musical instrument may know"brio", since the instructions are sometimes "Con brio", with spirit. Italian?
I never played anything, but one of my sons did A level music so I learned a lot then. Forgotten nearly all of it, though

Hi everyone,

Brio is also used in French and as Rosalind saids, it means vivacity, but also virtuosity.

A slight haze today but sun is wanting to come out. Temp only 9 at present but should increase with sun. Cool night though.

Good day to you, Elle!
Fine day here!
Cycling wil go "live" this afternoon on Eurosport.
Milan-San Remo is the longest of the "monuments".
"Monument" is the name given to each of the five most prestigious one-day classic cycle races.
Today is approximately 185 miles.
I have a wee bet on Fabian Cancellara.
Hope he goes well!
Skiing is on just now.
Frida Hansdotter currently leading.
Yes, I know the word "brio", but have never used it.
I am surprised you did not know the word before.
I shall have a coffee too, and a chocolate doughnut!

Hi, Ros and PIgale!
Yes, Ros, according to Chambers it is an Italian term.
Completely new to me , though!
No reference to its being used for music?
