Elle, Lexi came fourth. Her putting could have been better but she is only twenty so better days ahead! Cristie Kerr won.
Chris, I like Lydia Ko, a wonderful player and a smile is never far away. I like Inbee Park, too. Seems a very nice lady.
Great scenes at the end there, with Thompson chasing Kerr with a bottle of champagne, and Cristie's little boy running loose.
Good clean fun!

Hi, Rusty!
A lot of these lady golfers seem to be very young?
I have just looked up our weather forecast for tomorrow......as I will be about to go out with the dog early morning, we shall hit a high of 0C! and apparently we can expect fog too!
Still, I suppose it is preferable to snow and ice!
The house finally feels warm!
How is your weather doing? Do you still have snow lying?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, many are young. The winner, Cristie Kerr, is 37, though.
Another thing, 6 out of the top 10 in the womens rankings are from South Korea. One from China, Lydia Ko from New Zealand, and Lexi, and Stacey Lewis from USA. The women are very good players indeed!
It is mostly young guys in the mens game, too.
Still some snow here, but not much.
It is cold here, though.

Pigale, how is your weather and you getting on?
Today, one of Scotland's senior football clubs, Hamilton Academicals, played in a one-off football top.
It was France's away strip, and they added the Tricolour and the Scottish Saltire and their own badge to the top.
After the game, they are donating a top to each of France's teams in Ligue 1. They suggest auctioning them off for charity and to show their support to France after the terrible events in Paris. A small gesture, perhaps, but I hope, a welcome one.

Good morning, Rusty!
I awoke this morning to a lovely warm house! (the heating comes on an hour before I get up). What a nice change from yesterday!
Outside was like a Winter Wonderland scene - all white! but fortunately from frost and not snow!
It was lovely out walking the dog - blue sky and (very weak) sunshine.
Frozen grass which equals clean (ish) dog!
Very cold though.
Have you been out yet?

Good morning, Elle!
A new timer works wonders!
Our snow has gone. Fell dreich, though, and heavy rain forecast.
That is much better than snow!
I have not been out yet.
Been reading up on the latest Strategic Defence Review.
(This spell checker thinks I have spelled "defence" wrongly!)
Must be an American English one!
Going out soon to shop. I'm running short of porridge and other comestibles.
Time to stock up!

Hello Rusty, Hi everyone,

I am OK Rusty, just frozen ! the house is warm enough but coolish first thing even though heating comes on before I get up. Minus 2 last night.
I think there was a white frost very early (6/7 am) but it had all gone by the time I looked. I am not an early riser any more !

Very nice gesture from the Hamilton Academicals, it does not matter how small the gesture, it is the thought that counts - and there are quite a number of teams in ligue 1 anyway. It is overwhelming to see the kind reactions from folks all around the world.

What is it like in your neck of the wood? Snow all gone?

Good morning, Pigale!
Yes, it is a bit nippy in the mornings just now!
Snow has gone here, though I can see some in the hills to the North.
A nice gesture from Hamilton Accies.
They have at least one French player,
Christian Nade, whose sister was caught up in the events in Paris.
I think the Accies said there are 20 teams in Ligue 1, and a shirt is being sent to each one.
So, a friendly gesture, Pigale. Let us hope they do well, if auctioned!

Oh Elle
Can't imagine going out early- steeling myself to go for a walk soon. I have agreed to wear a BioBank activity wrist band for a week, so there will be a few extra walks on the cards! Yes yes, I know it's meant to be recording my normal activity but I need encouragement to keep walking (and really, really don't want a dog).
Anyway, my boiler shut down last evening because I bled the radiators and couldn't budge the pressure tap to allow more water in. Son No 2 to the rescue. It's almost worth having them!!! I didn't ask him at once and the house seemed to get very cold.
Odd to think most of us probably grew up without central heating, and I went to school on a bus, a ferry and a tram each way. Sometimes I couldn't see the number on the bus for smog and sometimes the snow came over my wellies. Just sometimes the Mersey ferry boats cast off and got swept a long way down river before battling their way back.
