Kiwi fruit are the work of the devil, in my opinion. If I ever have the misfortune to be served a fruit salad that inlcudes bits of Kiwi fruit, I carefully pick them out to avoid the risk of accidentally putting one in my mouth.

They make my mouth feel numb. Perhaps I have an allergy to them?

Hi Everyone,

ChrisE, whenever they ask you to mention if you are allergic to certain food (in hospital for example), they mention strawberry, banana AND kiwi. I have an allergy to banana and I was told not to try a kiwi because more than likely I would be allergic to it too.

Hi Rusty, Bless that team - it is amusing indeed. Hope they won !

Bitterly cold here - minus 4 in the night ! Got up at 6.30 to use the toilet and it was very white with frost already (went back to bed!)

Hi pigale
Interesting. I sometimes have the numb feeling with strawberries too. Never banana, though.

Good morning, Elle!
Great weather here. Not a cloud in the sky (was that in a song?)
A wee problem with kiwi fruit.
I would not recognise one if I saw one!
I am sure Ninian's advice is bang on, though.
I put a little bit of salt in my porridge, that's all. And milk.
I purchased a DAB radio (it was a wireless when I was a lad!) today.
I went to Currys, and it was a pleasant experience.
Very helpful staff etc. So, a big shout out for Currys!
I have not tried it yet, though.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Still raining here!
Yes, that quotation was from a song by Karen Carpenter ( one of my favourite singers)
It's called "Top of the World".....and goes
"Such a feeling's coming over me
There is wonder in most everything I see
Not a cloud in the sky, got the sun in my eyes
And I won't be surprised if it's a dream"............. and so on ..........
(I might have to play my CD!)
That 's great that you bought your DAB radio - did you compare prices in Currys with Tesco first? I hope you managed to get a (pre)Black Friday bargain?
I've now got slightly shorter and straightened (for now) hair!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Well done on the trim! Did doggie recognise you?
In my head (there is a lot of room!) I thought that the line may be from "Oklahoma"? I certainly thought of Gordon MacRae!
But Karen Carpenter certainly sang it. too.
I did not go to TESCO.
My new wireless is a Logik. Logik is a Currys own-brand, so TESCO would not stock it.
Currys Black Fridayish sale is called Black Tag.
My wireless had £17 knocked off, from £39 to £22 something.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and unpushy.
I will try it after my tea.

Hi, Rusty!
You have got a good deal from Currys by the sound of it!
We need both a new fridge and freezer, so might well go and visit OUR local branch of Currys whilst the Black Friday Sales are on!
Our present models are old and also slightly smaller than I would wish, so........ time for new ones!
I want a matching "set" -fridge and freezer "look-a-likes"! They need to stand side by side in the space we have for them.
Now sounds a good time to buy!
I have been playing Karen Carpenter CDs all afternoon! (your fault! you gave me an "earworm " with "Top of the World")
Enjoy exploring your new DAB radio after your tea!

Hello, Elle,
Currys have an online Black Tag site.
You may come across something there.
My impression is, you don't have to wait until Friday.
Worth a look!
My earworm, for about a week, is "Goodnight, Irene"!

Hi, Rusty!
I'll have a look at the fridges and freezers online, but I really prefer to see what I am buying "in the flesh", so to speak!
We are free tomorrow so maybe can fit in a visit to Currys then?
We shall see what develops......
I was the same about "Goodnight, Irene" after you mentioned it previously - I went around singing it all day!
Which version do you prefer? there are so many people singing it!
I like both Eric Clapton and Pete Seeger.

Hello, Elle!
Good idea about going to Currys tomorrow.
Take a pen and paper that's what I do.
I write down prices , sizes, etc.
There have been dozens who sang "Goodnight, Irene".
My favourite version is by the Weavers, when Pete Seeger was with them, and Ronnie Gilbert sang with them.
Ronnie had a beautiful voice. She died earlier this year.
I have never heard Eric Clapton doing it.
Not sure if Elvis sang it, but that song would suit him.
The Bristol Rovers fans sing "Goodnoight, Irene!"
And why not, indeed!
