Hello, Elle!
Snow blowing through here.
There was three grandchildren and me at Pine Cone, and they kindly allowed me to pay.
It is quite snug out on the verandah there!
Well, whether Avalon and Arthur existed or not, Ina Williams is a smashing singer! I love the way she pronounces "r"!
Meigle does not convince me about Guinevere, but there are Pictish stones there and lovely home made cakes at The Joinery.
I thought Wawrinka was an Aussie?
I hope Federer wins!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear, I am sorry about your snow! It is very picturesque when it first falls, but can be quite dangerous when it gets to the frozen ice part! I hope the snow doesn't stick but if it does...... be careful where you walk tomorrow !
I had a bad fall last time we had heavy snow - slipped on some ice that was camouflaged by fresh snow, and cracked my head on a slab of concrete!
I watched the (recorded ) semi finals of the ATP tennis this afternoon. I felt cheated to discover that there was only one match shown!
I was hoping to see Federer play! Instead I got the match between Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal - a good match won by Djokovic.
I haven't been able to discover who won the second semi-final match , played between Roger and Stan Wawrinka. I tried googling it but couldn't find it? Do you know who won?
(Wawrinka is Swiss, as is Roger Federer).
The Final is 6 pm tomorrow.
Did you do your cross word today?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the snow is lying here, unfortunately!
Oh dear, you cracked your head. I wondered what happened to you.
I think Roger beat Stan.
Did you hear what the BBC are up to now?
They are to be implementing cuts.
No live Open golf next year.
But, they may do away with Red Button service.
After you getting lessons from Malone, too!
Yes, I finished my crossword at teatime.
Did you manage to get one today?
I just came across a funny video on YouTube.
The Shipping Forecast by Brian Perkins.
I was in kinks!

Hi, Rusty!
I am overwhelmed by your sympathy for the fate of my poor head!
That is good if Roger beat Stan - a good match to which to look forward tomorrow evening then.
Let us hope that Roger wins!
So I might be losing my Red Button so soon after regaining it? Oh dear!
I am now reading a book focussed on the extraordinary true stories of three women who served in the forces - the ATS; the WAAF; and the WRNS - during the Second World War.
It is very interesting and so different from women's roles in the Great War.
And a very straightforward read - a nice change from "The Life of Pi"!
It is going to be colder still here tomorrow, so we are told.... minus 1C tomorrow morning!

Good morning, Elle!
My world has turned white!
We have a light coating of snow and temp is 1°C, and a lovely sunny Sunday morning.
Federer is in the final. And young Lexi Thompson is going well at the golf!
I will miss the Red Button. I like and use the text service a lot.
Your book sounds good! I am going to order some today, I think.
Top of my list is The Man Who Never Died, (the story of Joe Hill)
Have you any snow? Best be careful out walking, though it is the ice I am very wary of!

Hi Everyone,

Elle, join the club with minus temps ! It was minus 1C early hours this morning (between 4am and 7am - the worst time) and will be even colder tomorrow; I've added an extra little blanket on top of my duvet ! (I sleep with window opened)

Rusty, we are due to join you with snow here Tuesday/Wednesday, but I think the mountains have already had some - which is normal. Freezing fog due on Wednesday/Thursday too - that's very dangerous for motorists in particular.

Sun shining at present but due to cover up this afternoon. Winter has definitely arrived !

Any plans for today other than keeping warm ?

Hi, Rusty!
We awoke this morning to find that our central heating system isn't working! Our radiators are stone cold!
We are freezing!
We do have some electric oil-filled radiators for emergencies, so have been digging these out of the cupboard under the stairs, and establishing them in strategic positions until the cavalry arrives in the form of British Gas!
I am told the engineer will be here between 9 am and 1pm!
Meanwhile I am wearing my fleece!
I don't know of Joe Hill? Should I? Who is he?
Have fun choosing your books! hopefully, you may find some pre Black Friday bargains at Amazon!
Going to make yet another hot drink......!

Hello, Pigale!
I don't think my snow will last! It is only a light covering.
The serious stuff fell further North; some roads blocked etc.
I am having an easy day.
Yes, freezing fog is not good, or ice, that is what I don't like.
Dangerous stuff!

Hello, Pigale!
It feels like minus 1 indoors without our c/heating on!
Although the electric rads are beginning to warm everywhere up a little now.
All was well when we went to bed last night....we woke up to "Winter Wonderland" indoors - without the snow effects!

Elle, is your engineer going to come today? on a Sunday? If so, it is good service !

I sympathize with you though - I too have oil filled electric rads and they are useful as an extra heat when extremely cold, or for an hour or two in mid season, just to keep the chill away; but certainly not enough with the present sort of temps. Try and keep warm. Going outside for a while and coming back in might give you the feeling of a warm house .....!
