Hello, Elle!
Great place, Hastings, for the weather, eh!
Nice wee break for the family.
Dry and overcast here.
No chance of seeing a "Moonrise"!
How is doggie doing?

Hello Rusty and everyone !

Dry and Sunny here ! Sorry!

Any plans for today Rusty? or is it like me, a quiet day at home/garden? Do you have a garden Rusty - or is this too personal a question?

How do, Pigale!
Lucky you with the nice weather!
No plans, Pigale.
I have been to shop and that is it for today.
I do have a garden, but it is not a "pretty-pretty" garden.
It is made up of grass and heathers mainly. Needs little attention.
Have you any plans for today?

Not too much planned Rusty;

There was quiet a heavy dew this morning so once the sun as dried it all up, I might trim a small border to the terrace (privet) so that it looks nice for the winter.

The feline family is sun-bathing !

Morning, Rusty!
It's a better day than yesterday - dry (so far; let's not tempt providence!) and the sun is attempting to come through!
We are planning to take the dog out for a brief walk early afternoon. She is doing okay, thank you, bright as a button!
I'm hoping her test results will come through tomorrow or Tuesday - I'd rather know as soon as possible just what we are up against
(and fingers crossed it will turn out to be nothing serious!)
Later on, in the evening, we are driving over to East Croydon to pick up some friends from the railway station....... they are returning from a ten-day cruise.
Rather them than me - it is not at all my idea of a holiday. I abhor the idea of being mainly contained on a ship! (all those people! - rather like a holiday camp! or so I imagine, not ever having been to a holiday camp!)
Only stopping off for a day here and there as the cruise progresses.
I should want to stay in the one place long enough to at least discover its history and meet the locals, rather than a quick "touristy" look around.
But hey, it wouldn't do for us all to be the same.......
How about you? Would you fancy a cruise? or have you been on a cruise ship?

Golf course closed this morning - waterlogged. I'm not used to having a free Sunday morning.

I agree, Elle, cruises can wait until I can't do anything else, and maybe not then! The only exception was a Hurtigruten ship up the coast of Norway almost to Russia, but they don't like it to be called a cruise as when it's really snowy, the Norwegians use these ships (daily sailings) for local-ish transport. I did go ashore but there wasn't much to do in some places; the magic was the Northern Lights, the scenery we passed, the sea eagles and the fabulous food.

They had a Jacuzzi on deck, but it was minus 14 with wind chill and you slipped on ice from your own feet and legs on the way out. I tell you, climbing steps up to the changing room in my wet cozzie (now, there's a Northern expression, I think) is not an experience I am keen to repeat. Though possibly worse was the fat gentleman also in the Jacuzzi with wandering hands!

It was a little bizarre, sitting in hot water with my head in very cold air.

Hello, Elle,
The nearest I have came to a cruise is going back and forward to Norn Iron on the Stena ferry from Stranraer to Belfast.
I like that!
It goes from Cairnryan nowadays. They are great ships, I think, but a cruise would not appeal to me, I don't think.
I like to go for a walk and stretch my legs.
Rosalind mentioned Norway. Now that would appeal to me, seeing the fjiords etc and maybe the odd whale or two.
Dry land is best, though!

Your cats are sun-bathing, Pigale? Our garden is a morass after yesterdays' heavy rain!
I need wellies to go out there!

Chris, a water - logged golf course? but I thought you were the one having sunshine whilst the rest of us were experiencing rain?!
I guess that didn't last!

Ros, I'm not sure about "cozzie" being a Northern expression? I don't remember it as particularly being used there?
It's in Chambers but surprisingly spelt with a double "s"! however, it doesn't give any further info.
Any more northerners to help us out here????
