Oh dear, Doglet! I am sorry to hear of your dreary weathe; It is true that when looking at the weather map last night I saw a big low pressure band that touches the Northern coasts of France, the Channel and obviously parts of the UK.

I live much more towards the centre, so escape this rainy passage - but gosh, what high winds we had on Monday! Up to just over 100km/hour !

Hope your garden is not suffering from too much water now !

Yes it is sad. JG only said she'd leave this thread for a while, not the Forum
On Forums and email, there's no body language, tone of voice or visual clues to help interpretation :-((

On a happier note, today someone sent me a beautifully tuned bowl made from one of my ash trees. He regrets the blemishes' i think they're wonderful. One mark looks like a kingfisher watching the surface of some water!

Morning, Ros!
That is a very good point you've just raised. One we might all do well to bear in mind.
I've been caught myself in the past, wishing that if the recipient could only "see" me , he/ she would understand better/ more clearly.

I did add a "smiley" to my post 3487 to show that it was meant kindly. Apologies again

I agree Ros and Elle, and this is why we must be so careful in our choice of words - When replying to a post, we (or I at least) tend to say whatever first comes to our head, without reflecting too much, and as you say, with no body language to help, these words might be interpreted the wrong way.

Hope it all sorts itself out soon, and meanwhile it is up to us to keep this thread going - it answers a need for those among us who depend on what it offers in the way of virtual comradship.

Hi Jazzy,
Nice to see you on the Forum - You needn't apologize again, it's all in the past now and there is not much point in lingering over it. Start afresh as though nothing had happened, if you can :))

I hope rusty has now put it all behind us, also.
I know he will be back in his own good time, sooner rather than later I hope ;)

Hi again,

Have just returned from the Vet where I took the 3 cats!
Mother to have the stitches out after being spayed, and kittens to have their second jab.

The fun was getting the kittens in their box ! One of the little devils had me running after her all around the house!

Anyway, all done now until November when it will be time for them to be spayed.

This is my bit of useless information, I dare say it is of no interest to anyone but this Thread seems so very quiet !

Hello, Pigale!
It isn't useless information - I am interested to hear about your cats!
I just haven't been around today as I went to meet an old school friend for lunch!
We have always kept in touch and now that we live not too far away from each other, we try to meet up once every month.
Friends are important!
My sole remaining cat also does not like to be put in his basket - whether we are going to the vet or on holiday , he gives us a hard time rounding him up!
Now that I'm back, I'm going to play catch up with the Athletics - haven't even had a chance to do today's crosswords yet either .
