Hello Doglet,

Sorry about late reply - had friends in for a late afternoon drink.

The weather here has turned out bright, sunny and quite warm (hot to you I suppose, around 27C). The low depression that passed your way has also been affecting the Northern coast of France.

Tomatoes and pears need sun - water yes but sun to ripen; mind you a tomatoe chutney is delicious; I don't know how to make chutney but I love eating those given to me by my British friends !

Kittens are doing very well - almost three and a half months now, are growing like mad and get up to all sorts of things - sometimes I wonder if they are not monkeys view the way they climb up everything. They are going for second vaccin in 10 days.

Mummy cat has been spayed and tatooed - stitches due to come out same day as kittens 2nd vaccinations. My friendly vet is very nice and giving me a 'bulk price' !

Hello, Elle!
Still dry here but darkness approaching!
No, I just had a look at the wirelesses. No buying.
The Road Bridge is downstream from the rail bridge.
The Queen Mum opened it in 1966. Before that we sailed to Fife.
I always go to this little shop in Fife for troosers.
I hope Lin likes Edinburgh. Plenty to see and do there. Museum of Childhood, free, on the Royal Mile?
I wonder what is going on at Chambers?
Very off-hand treatment for their customers.
Not like that in William's day!

Hi, Rusty!
Our younger daughter has gone to Berlin (again )today with her work colleagues. This time it is to meet up with the contingent that work over there - as the company is organising a staff 'party'!
She texted us earlier this evening to let us know that she had arrived safely.
One of her friends is also going to Berlin and the two of them will stay on afterwards for the weekend and do some sight seeing.
it will be nice for her to have a break. She works hard, both at the office and at home looking after her family.
Her husband is looking after the little one for the few days that she will be away.
I watched a recorded episode of Eggheads this evening.
One of them didn't know that Bing Crosby was known as the " Old Groaner"!

Hello, Elle!
Hope the young one has a nice time in Berlin!
Did you not volunteer your baby sitting service?
I have not watched Eggheads for ages. I bet it was not Kevin who did not know the Old Groaner.
Kevin knows everything. A polymath?
I used to watch it most nights, too!
I preferred it when Dermot Murnaghan presented it.
Now Bing was a singer! One of my all time favourites.
I detested Sinatra! Could not stand the man.
Still very warm here. Need rain!

For Pigale, Elle, Chris... everyone.

A clue from today's Times crossword...

Reliable, though not at first, as out of practice (5).
