Good afternoon, Elle.
I had to look up "nesh"! It is an Old English word.
May be why it is a stranger to me.
Most of our local dialect words are from Old Norse, I think.
Another fine shirt-sleeve day up here in the Frozen North!.
No bell, Elle. Folk may knock with their knuckles, or should I get a doorknocker?
I shall see what my joiner thinks.
Yes, enter your clue for parsing.
It is very rarely on here that a clue is not solved.
I would have thought there may be a Home Bargains in Croydon? Worth a visit.

Yes, but that's from the man' s point of view, Pigale ! Now try punctuating it again from the woman's?

Please Miss, my mother, Miss, told me, Miss, to tell you, Miss, that I, Miss, must miss, Miss, school tomorrow, Miss.

That 'that is', is that 'that is not'; 'is not' is not that, so That Is. (I feel I am getting totally confused there!)

Hi Jazzy - Your link amused me greatly - I am going to 'try' and forward it to my English friends. If all fails, I'll write the link out myself.

Somehow this is an operation that I manage sometimes and totally fail other times.

I think you'll find it's:

A woman, without her man, is nothing

(!)

I feel stupid ! I probably would have clicked if it had all been in the plural (making more a general statement, ie

Women : without them, men are nothing.

No good looking for excuses, I failed miserably !
