Hi, Rusty!
It will be my turn to have a quiet day tomorrow......
I love having the children over.....but I will admit to feeling a bit tired now.
We play games all the time, and I am constantly on the go!
Crosswords and reading are on the agenda for Sunday!
How did your cycling go?

Hello, Elle!
The young ones can be hard to keep up with!
Cycling was not as exciting as last night's elimination race, which had three crashes, and a rider who objected to being eliminated!
One rider managed to crash twice in the same race!
The points race tonight was won by Maria Confalonieri, of Italy, and she rode a super race.
Neah Evans rode for GB but not fast enough.
Tomorrow is the Madison events.
GB team will be Trotty and A.N.Other, possibly Katie Archibald.
Though Emily Nelson is going great guns this week, too.
Though EuroSport do not appear to be showing it.
So, I'll have to go hunting for it!

Hi, Rusty!
I can cope fine with the seven year old......it is the three year old that proves exhausting!
He is lovely though! and very endearing, even when being at his most mischievous!
What happened with the cyclist who objected to being eliminated?
Did she rebel against the decision?
I am not sure how it all works?
Has the rest of the cycling been shown by EuroSport?
If so, it seems odd that they are not continuing to show it tomorrow?
Where else, then, might you find it ?

Good morning, Elle!
Seems a fine morning, outside!
The race was neutralised until the reluctant rider conformed with the elimination procedure.
The riders have a small electronic gadget fixed to their handlebars which flashes when they are last across the line and eliminated.
There is also an official who holds up the flag of the country of the eliminated rider.
There can be confusion amongst the riders (and spectators) as to who actually is eliminated.
I only want to see the Madison today, but no idea where it may be shown.
i'll have to hunt for it!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a lovely morning here, too.
Very chilly though....padded jacket and gloves needed when out walking early.
Ah, thank you for explaining the cycling elimination process.
It does not sound as though there is really room for argument though, if a flashing light is shown on the cyclist's handlebars?
But I guess the competitor in question may well think it's worth having a try at objecting......
I hope you can find a channel showing the Madison.
I am home now for a time, although hoping to fit in a second walk this afternoon.
Meanwhile, coffee and the Everyman!

Hello, Elle!
I have not got the winter anorak and gloves out yet!
There may have been a problem with the light/transponder thingy, and I can't remember which (if any) flag was held up, but it took several laps for the rider to leave the race.
She seemed to think it was another rider who was eliminated and she was safe.
It happens!
It can be difficult to judge for us viewers, as we are used to watching who is first over the line, rather than who is last to cross it.
But that's the nature of the elimination race.
When I was young it was called "the De'il", short for "Devil Take the Hindmost".
A much better name, in my humble opinion!
I am going to have look at the Amsterdam Marathon which is on now.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh, I was not wearing my proper "winter" gear......just a lightly padded jacket.
I have a much thicker down coat for walking the dog in the really cold winter temperatures!
This is just "fair to middling" cold weather!
I have finished the Everyman, and not yet got the ST cryptic puzzle, so thought I would try to find the Amsterdam Marathon.....
Where is it showing?
The BBC Sports Athletics site does not seem to have it?

Hello, Elle!
You sound like myself.
I have different jackets for the cold weather, too!
The marathon was on EuroSport.
The winners have finished now, though.
I only caught the last bit of it.
The women's race was won by a twenty year old Ethiopian girl, and I think they said it was her first marathon!
She broke the course record, too!
Her pacer was brilliant.
He took her the whole way until the last half kilometer, then waved her through to take the victory on her own.

Hi, Rusty!
Well, I would have missed the best of the Amsterdam Marathon , then, even supposing I had been able to find an available (to me) channel showing it.
Were there any "big names" taking part?
Both crossword puzzles all done some time back...barring one or two parses still to solve.
I have been writing some overdue emails...and reading......
I am getting very low on reading material...I need to browse Amazon!
I think I shall now prepare some soup for lunch, and then consider taking the dog out about 2 pm.
A pleasant lazy day on the whole!

Hello, Elle!
There were no "names" that I recognised.
But recently we had Berlin and Chicago, and Kipchoge's run at Vienna, so the cream would be at those events.
Big crowds at Amsterdam, though.
I am making soup, too!
Lentil and carrot.
It smells good!
