Hello, Elle!
You have the advantage on me, Elle!
I have but a vague notion of Arthurian legend, I'm afraid!
I had a look in Chambers and they say "fay" means "fairy" and the word comes from Old French, and LL, which means either Late Latin or Low Latin?
Also, Chambers reckons that "fata Morgana", a mirage, is supposed to be caused by the fairy Morgana of Arthurian legend.
My tuppenyworth is Morgan le Fay, is simply Morgan the fairy, and should it not be "la" Fay, perhaps?
I'll have a look in Brewer's.... if I can find it!
I thought "baby bonnet"/"under one's hat" was a super clue, but it took me a while to appreciate the cleverness of the clue.
A bit of head scratching involved!

Hi, Rusty!
I am sorry for the delay in replying.....
I have been out walking the dog!
The sun suddenly came out, and so I decided to don my Nubucks, and jacket, grab the dog.....and go!
We made it back without getting wet, although the sky is very overcast again now.
LL is late Latin......and I think Morgan le Fay is the Morgana of whom you speak.
She is the fairy sister of King Arthur.
I have missed my daughter's phone call today, as I was out...but I've sent her a text explaining...and received one in reply!
I hope the family outing to celebrate Miss L-B's birthday goes well.
Do you know where they are going for their tea?

Hello, Chris!
No, I haven't come across the "Invisible Library" series....but I shall look it up in a while.
(I am only just back home)
I had never come across "fey" as a noun?
But simply as an adjective, meaning foreseeing the future, or being a bit eccentric.
Nor had it occurred to me that "fay" was an alternative spelling!

Good evening, Elle!
Almost dark here!
But been a dry day here.
Yes, I have been reading about Morgan le Fay.
Very interesting!
Miss L-B and family have gone down town to a "Mexican grill" restaurant.
They have been before and said it was "brilliant".
I have not heard from them.
I suggested to Miss O that a picture would be nice!
I am watching the cycling.
Trotty and co are riding later!

Hi, Rusty!
It is pouring down here, now.
I was lucky with my timing this afternoon!
I have never been to a Mexican restaurant, and am not sure what dishes they serve?
But I do like spicy food.
I am sure your family will have a good time.
I expect you will hear all about it, later.
And Miss O may even send a photo!
What cycling event is it that you are watching?

Hello, Elle!
I have heard of burritos and fajitas and what they are I do not know, and that is my knowledge of Mexican food!
But the girls say it is a great wee place.
No photo so far.
I was watching the women's elimination race, which was won by the great Kirsten Wild of Holland, with Emily Nelson taking the silver medal.
Trotty and co ride shortly.
I was having a wee chuckle at the medal ceremony.
Not only did the girls get their medals and flowers, but they each got a pair of clogs!

Update, Elle!
Trotty and co have just won gold in Apeldoorn.
They beat Germany in the final.
Trotty is hoping for three golds.
In team pursuit, omnium, and Madison.
One down, two to go!

Hi, Rusty!
I, too, have heard of those Mexican dishes, but do not know of their ingredients?
I do not know of any Mexican restaurants in our locality.
I am wondering how the cycling officials knew what size of clogs to buy for the winners?
Well done, Trotty and colleagues!
And fingers crossed for Trotty in her other two events!
Now I have a bit of news that you will like.... and of which I think you will approve.....although you may of course have heard it already.
I have received an email from the Athletics Weekly......and amongst their blurb, I found some info about the arrangements for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
It seems that because of the recent hoo-ha about the Marathons and Road Races in Doha being affected by the extreme heat , it has been decided to relocate those planned for the 2020 Olympics, to Sapparo - 800Km north of the host city of Tokyo - where it will be considerably cooler.
This very sensible decision has been announced by the IOC.
It is hoped that this will help mitigate the effects of the temperatures which may occur next Summer.
It seems that someone, at least, is learning from recent past mistakes......

Hello, Elle!
I wondered if the Mexican grill was part of a chain, but the girls say "no".
It is a small private restaurant.
The clogs all looked to be the same size!
Trotty and the girls were super.
The others were Katie Archibald, Neah Evans, and Ellie Dickinson.
This three golds attempt for Trotty this week, is to see if it is possible for her to do it in Tokyo at the Olympics.
That is her aim.
She will know after these championships if it is on, or not.
And there is great strength/competition in depth in the GB endurance womens team.
Her team mates in tonight's race, plus Elinor Barker, Emily Kay, and Emily Nelson.
They all want to go to Tokyo, too!
I read that about Sapporo.
Seems a sensible idea, but after the Doha marathons and walks, anything would be an improvement!

Both burritos and fajitas start with a tortilla, which is a thin flatbread.
The ingredients are so varied it's difficult to be definitve, but usually burritos contain rice, with beef mince, beans and tomatoes simmered together with onions, herbs and chillies. Some is put on the tortilla which is then folded and rolled. Fajitas often have other ingredients - the meat is frequently chicken with peppers and cheese as well as herbs and chilli, served folded over once or just on top of the tortilla, and sometimes with guacamole.
