Hello, Elle!
I do not think Mo gave an interview after the race today.
He recorded his slowest marathon time.
Simply not good enough, today.
Maybe too old, now?
Though Bernard Lagat is 42 and yet did a super job yesterday as team captain of Kipchoge's pacemakers in Vienna.
I suppose in Mo's defence he has had a difficult week with the press, due to the Salazar /Nike Oregon Project connection.
He certainly was not at his best.
It was raining here but not too heavy.

Good morning, Rusty!
Another wet morning here......and distinctly chilly.
I think the dog was pleased to re-explore familiar territory and to meet up with all her friends in the park.
She was very muddy by the time we returned home!
I should like to watch Kipchoge's success in achieving his sub-two hour Marathon record......and see how good a job the pacemakers did.
I expect I can find it on YouTube?
I shall take a look shortly......
Paper work and a few phone calls are necessary this morning......
Otherwise the day is my own!

Good morning, Elle!
Great day here.
I am just home.
Your dog will be glad to meet up with old pals!
You should find Kipchoge on YouTube.
Everything in the whole wide world is on YouTube!
His pacemakers were superb.
Just one minor hitch at the first changeover, then everything was in perfect harmony.
It took months of preparation and he used super pacemakers including the three Ingebrigsten brothers.
Bernard Lagat was the road captain (if I can use bike racing terminology!) of the pacemakers.
His drinks were handed to him from a bicycle, so no slowing down at a drinks table.
Hope you find it!

Hi, Rusty!
Goodness, where has my morning gone?
I had one or two minor hiccoughs to sort out by phone.....
And you know how hard work that can sometimes be.......when pressing one, then two, then maybe six (!) etc., does not bring forth fruit.......
Nor, it would appear, an actual "person" on the line to whom one might speak!
But patience and perseverance (mine) won out...and all is done and dusted now!
Yes, I seem to have found several video clips concerning Eliud Kipchoge's successful attempt.....
I shall now make a coffee and decide which to watch!
What are you up to, today?

Good afternoon, Elle!
I know what you mean by phoning organisations with less than helpful menus etc.
I find it irritating.
Hope you like the Kipchoge clips!
I am about to tackle my puzzle!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just finished watching Kipchoge......
Wow! How awe -inspiring!
Yes, I saw the cyclists giving the water bottles in transit, so that Eliud did not have to slow down!
I am well impressed by the whole organisation of the event.
Brilliantly done.
I have finished my crossword....not too hard a one today?
My favourites are 18a: resplendence; 7d: decrepit; and 19d: Merino
I didn't know the island "Ischia" in 2d...or the game "punchball" in 3d.
And can you please explain the parsing for 11d: glockenspiel?
The rain has temporarily eased off.....but we are suppose to get thunderstorms this afternoon!

Hello, Elle!
Still bright and sunny here!
The Kipchoge run was superb and he had energy when he finished, too.
Pacemakers were perfect.
Now, "glockenspiel".
"Gen" is the abbreviation for General, in the Army, surrounding "lock"/bar.
"Spiel" is a speech.
Think spiel is American slang?
I liked the puzzle today.
I liked "Warwickshire"!

Hi, Rusty!
I think I am living in the wrong part of the UK!
It is still raining here.....and heavily, too.
The only plus that I can see is that the Storm Sure glue that you found for me all that time ago is still working well on my wellies!
Thanks for the info on "glockenspiel".
I did not think of "bar" as meaning "lock".
I should never have got there with that one!
Yes, "Warwickshire" was a good one!
How is your son getting on with the house hunting?
Any progress whilst I've been away?

Hello, Elle!
It's been fine weather all day here.
And we have had very picturesque sunsets lately.
I would quibble the use of "bar" for "lock", too, but Anne Bradford has "bar" under "lock", and she knows what she's at!
So, I'd say it's fine!
No more news on the house hunting.
I have not asked, though.
I am seeing La Bamba tomorrow and she may have an update.

Good evening, Rusty!
Are you and Miss L-B going to the Pine Cone tomorrow?
Yes, I am sure she will fill you in if there is any more info on potential houses!
My elder daughter is still trying to sell her house, and at the same time they are looking to relocate nearer to their elder son's new school, as I will have told you.
She thinks they may now have a possible buyer for their property ....but in the interim have lost the house they themselves had been hoping to buy.
It is difficult keeping all the balls up in the air at the same time!
