Hello, Elle!
A pity you missed the final, Elle!
Dina ran a personal best to win.
She looked very good indeed.
They are not too worried about the house bid.
I'm sure something else will come along.

Update, Rusty!
I found Dina's race on a video clip, and have just watched it.
A comfortable, very convincing win!
21.88 seconds!
And now she has a Gold medal!

Oops, Rusty!
Our posts crossed!
You did say that your son had other houses in mind....
I hope they find a suitable alternative...…
I am sure that they will!
Maybe an even better house!
The sealed bid offers stop gazumping......but leave no room for negotiation.

Good morning, Elle.
Fine day here, with a touch of frost, too.
Neighbours scraping car windscreens!
I have heating on!
I have no experience of sealed bids.
But, I'll see what my son has to say about the proceedings this evening, should he visit.
The athletics were entertaining yesterday, especially Dina winning.
I hope KJT can get a medal, too.

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
It is dull but dry here....very cold out this morning...a temperature of 4C!
I even wore a padded jacket!
This is not normally to be seen until at least November!
And I have heating on, too!
I am going to do some packing this morning.......
I think the animals have more to take than I do!
We are not going until Saturday...but I can relax once I am (semi) organised!
Yes, hopefully, Kat should be in with a very good chance of a medal...maybe even Gold?
I haven't looked at the Athletics timetable for today, yet.
Jobs first...athletics this afternoon!
Maybe the crossword in between...…?

Good afternoon, Elle!
Anoraks will soon be to the fore, I think, as the temperature drops!
Dry but on the cool side, here.
How long will the drive to Swanage take?
Yes, the athletics are on soon.
Laura Muir runs at 21.00.
I read that Seb Coe was having a go at Gabby Logan and the BBC coverage of the World Championships.
He did not mention Michael Johnson, though!
I've no time for Coe, I'm afraid!
I'm with Michael on this one!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Yes, I, too, read about Seb Coe and his verbal assault on Gabby and the BBC.
It was in the online Guardian write-up.... and various tabloids, too.
I totally disagree ...I think Gabby does a brilliant job, and keeps the Athletics programmes running very smoothly, going expertly from track and field, to the studio panel, and also the exchanges with the sports commentators.
She is an asset to the BBC!
Somewhat surprising that Michael did not get a flick of the whip, as well?
And Gabby was not alone in her criticism of the (nearly) empty stadium..... everyone appearing in the 'studio' had something to say about that.
I met Seb Coe once in our respective youths - at the Crystal Palace track - he was quite a pleasant young man then, before he became overly ambitious!
It should take about three and a half hours non- stop driving to reach Swanage , as we have to drive round (no ferry).
But it will take longer allowing for toilet breaks....for the dog, if not for us!
There is no rush......we can take it easy and spell it out....
Right......packing done with.....time to sit down now, and watch some Athletics!

Hello, Elle!
Yep, I like Gabby, and I think she is very good at her job.
Not only does she present the athletics, but also does other sports including football and rugby.
So, a talented lass!
I was pleased to see Gary Lineker defending her, too!
And the "others", like Denise and Michael, are spot on with their comments about the empty stadium and the IAAF being to blame, too.
I think Coe is a very snooty individual with a conceit of himself.
I much preferred Steve Ovett and Dave Bedford from that era.
That's quite a drive to Swanage.
Best plan for a break or two!

Hi, Rusty!
We're going back a while with Steve Ovett and Dave Bedford....
Steve Ovett I remember well; he ran the 800m
I cannot picture Dave Bedford though.
I know he ran the 10,000m, but cannot put a face to the name ?
My daughter has just texted to say they arrived safely in Ireland.
They had a somewhat eventful flight.
A passenger was taken ill on board and had to be removed by paramedics immediately on landing.
And then YB threw up all over her!
Nice!
Is your son coming this evening?
You may learn more about the house bids?

Hello, Elle!
Dave Bedford was a tallish lad and had a Mexican Zapata moustache and always wore red socks.
I think he was the man behind the London Marathon for some time, don't know about now, though.
I think Dave is one of the good guys.
Hope the storm does not affect your daughter driving to Waterford.
I hope my son is visiting.
Not heard that he's not, anyway!
