Hello, Elle!
A pity about your weather!
Very strange about your TV?
Maybe power surges?
Nothing of much interest at Doha, there will be this evening though.
I was listening to Paula Radcliffe talking to Gabby.
She talks sense!
No sign of Michael!
This is Kipchoge's second attempt and the preparation for it is awesome!
He will have to run the equivalent of 17 seconds for 100 metres all the way!
I think they are using cyclists to hand him his drink bottles so he won't have to slow down at a drinks station.
It is being shown live on YouTube.

Are you watching through a dish, elle? Our picture breaks up when it rains hard, sometimes.

Hi, Rusty!
My goodness, what bad storms we have had...….
Not only was the TV peculiar.... but since that episode, my computer has been playing up, too.
And when my daughter phoned, although I heard the phone ringing, when I answered, my daughter's voice was all distorted and I could not even make out at the time that it was she who was phoning!
She rang again later and confirmed that she had been trying to get through!
So I didn't miss much at Doha earlier on........
No Michael? Is he just keeping a low profile today?
And I just managed to watch Adam Gemili race in the 200m Final.
What a wonderful effort on his part........
He was leading earlier in the race...and looked like being second to Noah Wyles even up to about 40m from the finish......
But, oh, how gutted he was to come such a close fourth!
But well done, Adam!
A goodly attempt!

Hello, Chris!
No...no dish!
We only have an indoor aerial, but this is the first time we have had interference like that from a storm........the TV, the computer, and even the telephone were affected!

Hello, Elle!
You have strange electrical goings on, down there!
Has the storm passed?
Is your TV etc working satisfactorily now?
Michael is back on, thankfully!
I think they must work in shifts.
I watched Dina and she was impressive!
And Elaine Thompson has pulled out.
That's several top athletes pulled out, now.
I did not see Adam Gemili run, but I read he was very upset after the race.
It has been a very long season for the athletes, what with these championships being held so late in the year to dodge the worst of the heat.
And there's always Tokyo to think about

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, the thunderstorms seem to have passed, although it is still raining!
I should imagine that the whole area was similarly affected ..... I doubt it was just us who experienced electrical problems?
I expect I shall hear more about it in the park tomorrow.
I am glad to hear that Michael is back!
What was wrong with Elaine Thompson?
Speaking of athletes pulling out, I hear that Matthew Hudson -Smith had to pull up just after the start of the 400m race, with a suspected hamstring injury.
And was taken off the track in a wheelchair?
Bad luck for him...he has been dogged with injuries for a while.
I hope I have better luck with watching the athletics events tomorrow....
I believe our forecast is for sunshine, but much colder temperatures!

Good morning, Elle!
A dry morning here!
5C outside, but should warm up as the day goes on.
Has your rain stopped?
Elaine Thompson mentioned a sore Achilles tendon earlier in the week.
Could be her reason for pulling out.
I don't know Matthew Hudson-Smith.
Dina's final is tonight.
I am looking forward to that. Hope she gets a medal.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a lovely day here.
The sun is shining and the sky is blue!
What a change from yesterday.
It appears I wasn't alone with my electrical problems yesterday.
One of my friends told me this morning that his computer was down for two hours.
Anyway, all seems back to normal now.
I didn't know about Elaine Thompson's Achilles tendon problem.
She has not been racing well, though , for a while.
I was only thinking last night about the absence of Caster Semenya in the 800m......
It seems to be a different ball game with all these new rules and regulations?
Yes, Dina should be in with a good chance tonight...fingers crossed for her!
I need a coffee before I start my jobs!

Hello, Elle!
Great weather here, too!
Hope it holds for a few days!
I feel sorry for Caster Semenya.
It is a difficult one, though, and I can't see a way to solve it.
I would like to see Dina win a medal.
I think she's capable of it, and no Elaine Thompson in the final, so she has a very good chance of one!
And she comes across as a very nice lass, too.
Laura Muir and KJT start their campaigns today.
So, good luck to them all!

Hi, Rusty!
I'm hoping for dry weather whilst we are away in Swanage.
There is a limit to how much wet weather gear we wish to take!
At the moment, the forecast for there is not good.
I don't mind its being cold, just please not wet!
Yes, it is tough on Caster and others in a similar position.
I watched an interview where she said that running was the essential "her", and she couldn't envisage doing anything else......
Although I believe she is now following a football career?
I cannot help but feel she was forced out.
I'm looking forward to seeing Laura race.
Is she only doing the one distance?
Not doubling up?
I tried Googling this, but couldn't find anything......

Hello, Elle!
You'd best take your raingear with you, I think.
Storm Lorenzo is approaching the West coast of Ireland and could well hit the UK afterwards.
I agree that Caster was forced out.
They do not want her running, full stop.
They said she could run if she took certain drugs, but she would not do it.
I think Laura is doing one event, 1500 metres.
The heats for the 5000 metres are this afternoon, too, so she would have less than one hour between events.
There are several pages in The Times on the Salazar story.
The "NOP", the Nike Oregon Project, comes out very poorly.
It is good reading, though!
