Hi, Rusty!
Oh yes, we shall take rain gear and spare walking boots!
I don't know what drying facilities there might be in the house, and so alternative wet weather clothing is a necessity.
Our main intent is to walk with the dog!
Swanage is great, as there is Durlston Country park nearby where we are staying, with open countryside around .
And Knoll beach (a short drive away) is free of breakwaters, and we can walk for miles along the sandy beach to Studland Bay.
It should be good!
You were saying about the 1500m and the 5000m races being close together.....
One of the studio bods - Michael maybe? I cannot remember - was saying that the organisers should have given more thought , when the racing schedule was being planned. to athletes wanting to "double up" in different distances .
Altho I guess having only afternoon and evening events, because of the heat, made planning that more difficult.
Yes, I've been reading about Alberto Salazar's four -year ban.......
Steve Cram seems very sure that Mo Farah is completely 'clean', and was never involved in any of Salazar's dodgy undertakings.
Athletes have been instructed to sever all ties, now, with the disgraced coach, haven't they?
What a business!

Hello, Elle!
Swanage sounds good!
I had not heard of it until you mentioned it.
The Ethiopian athletes were told "no doubling up".
They had to choose one event only.
Well, Steve Cram seems very confident about Farah.
I'm not sure the rest of us are.
There has been a lot of speculation about the huge improvement in Farah's running since he joined up with Salazar in Oregon.
I wonder if Cram has a link to Nike?
I noticed Nike's share price dropped after yesterday's news.

Hi, Rusty!
I did not know that the Ethiopian athletes had been told "no doubling up"?
But there is a big difference between doubling up in the longer distance races in which the Ethiopian athletes take part, than those of shorter distances...
So perhaps this makes sense?
I am expecting you will have watched the Women's 1500m heats.......
Sarah McDonald and Laura Muir went through comfortably to the Semis.....
Jemma Reekie, despite starting strongly (maybe too strongly?) was unfortunately run out in her heat.
Eilish McColgan to watch in the 5000m now!

Hello, Elle!
There are many accomplished Ethiopian distance runners, so it makes sense to have the best ones in their chosen event rather than thinking about taking part in two.
Eilish done well, and boy can she talk!
Kat is going along nicely, too.
I am just waiting on my grandson visiting.
He comes straight from work, then goes to his Mum for his tea.

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, Eilish ran a good race........I saw Liz watching her!
And Laura Weightman did well in her heat, too, and is also through to the next round. A pity that Jess Judd went out.
I have been talking to my daughter.
They are leaving home at 5am tomorrow, to drive to Stansted airport for their flight to Cork.
They are hiring a car at the other end
The wedding is on Friday, in Waterford.
I hope you have a good time with your grandson!

Hello, Elle!
I thought Liz was looking well.
Sometimes I used to see her out training, when she was racing.
That's when she was Liz Lynch!
I think she lives in the Middle East now.
I have not been to Waterford, but I believe it is quite a scenic drive from Cork to Waterford.
Does your daughter know the road signs are in kilometres, not miles?
My grandson is just away.
He is going to Kenmore for the weekend.
A very nice part of the world on Loch Tay.

Hi, Rusty!
I am having a TV break before watching Dina Asher-Smith's race at 8.35.
I am looking forward to that!
Yes, Liz looks great.
She lives in Qatar, although I don't know whereabouts, with her husband John Nuttall.
I think she was sitting next to him, when we saw her watching Eilish?
I didn't know that about the road distances in Ireland being expressed in Kilometres.
I have passed on the info......
I don't know which of them will be driving.
Has your son heard anything about the sealed bid that he put in for the house?

Hello, Elle!
I do not know who Liz is married to.
Your daughter will be fine driving in kilometres.
It is further North it can be confusing when crossing the border, going from Kms to miles, and vice versa.
My son's bid was unsuccessful.
Soon be time for Dina's run.
Fingers crossed for her!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, would you believe that I missed the race!
I was sitting here waiting for it.......with just a few minutes to go.....when the phone rang!
My husband had just gone up to the shop for some milk....so I felt bound to answer the telephone in case it was important.
I didn't have time to switch on the recorder!
I know Dina won the Gold...... but I wish I had seen her in action!
I am sure it will be repeated, either on tonight's News...or at the start of tomorrow's programme!
I shall just have to wait!
but Well done, Dina!
That is hard luck about the house bid......
