Hello, Elle!
Lovely morning, here!
Sorry, I have confused you!
The Berlin marathon is not in anyway related to the World Champioships in Doha.
A separate event. Berlin's normal annual marathon.
The Worlds is taking place later in the year than usual, because of the heat, and this will have caused the clash with the Berlin marathon.
Well, that's how I see it, anyway.
The Worlds mens marathon is still to come.
There would be a huge drop in income to IAAF if the TV companies, or governments, told them to take their tainted competition for a hike.
The public in Qatar are certainly not interested in the athletics, so why are they held there?
No plans for me today....so far.
I'm halfway through my puzzle.
Some smashing clues today, I thought!

Hello, Cerasus!
Oh, that is very kind of you!
It is a nuisance convenience and time-wise..... but at least we are familiar with the territory, so will not get lost driving round by Wareham!

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, I see..... the two Marathon events ...Berlin and Doha...are more-or-less coinciding, because of the later than usual dates of the World Championships.
Yes, now it all makes sense!
I am plodding on with a number of tasks.....why is it that often one chore leads to yet another?!
You are doing well with your puzzle!
I do not have mine as yet, so cannot add any comment.
Well, I'd better get on....I want all my jobs out of the way by the time the Athletics' coverage begins!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I have had a busy morning.......!
I managed to get out with the dog, too!
And I am now watching some of the Athletics.
We have got three Brits through to the Semi- Finals of the 200m!
Dina Asher-Smith won her heat comfortably, with Jodie Williams and Beth Dobbin also qualifying in their respective heats.
Blessing Okagbare was surprisingly disqualified for running slightly outside her lane.
Colin Jackson noticed, and had commented on it during the race.
He was right, and Blessing was disqualified at the close of the race.
She was fourth in her heat, and would have gone through as a fastest loser.
A pity...but rules are rules.
What have you been up to?
Have you had chance to see any of it?

Hello, Elle!
I have been sorting out paperwork.
I keep putting off things like that, but it has to be done sometime.
I saw a little bit of athletics and will watch the men running 5000 metres at 19.20, according to my schedule.
Found out a little bit about the IAAF choosing Doha.
The other two places in the running were Barcelona, and Eugene, Oregon (home of Nike).
I would have preferred Barcelona, but either would have been much better than Doha!
I've seen some photos of the women's marathon.
The streets were deserted.
I mean not a single spectator on the streets.
Good to see Daley Thompson in BBC studio.
Not seen him in ages!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, paperwork has to be done...
I, too, put these things off when possible!
It is good that Adam Gemili made it through to the 200m Final; I was surprised that Zharnel Hughes did not do better.
I have just watched the Men's 5000m.
A superb race , but the Ingerbrigsten brothers were not up to the Ethiopian competition!
Edris defended his title successfully, with Barega coming second, Ahmed third, and Bekele fourth.
I think the youngest Ingerbrigsten, Jacob, was fifth?
Now earlier, I caught the tail end of Gaby's talking to Jon Ridgeon about the Doha situation....
It was a pity that I had missed the essence of the discussion.......
Did you by any chance see the interview?
I wonder will it perhaps be mentioned in the papers, or be in the Online news tomorrow?

Good evening, Elle!
I watched the men's 5000.
A superb race! Excellent competitors!
And wonderful support from the Ethiopians in the stands.
I did not see Gaby talking to Jon Ridgeon.
I don't think I would recognise him.
Why do you think it may be in the newspapers?
Was it controversial?

I found this article which contains a bit about Gabby interviewing Jon Ridgeon.
