Hello, Elle!
It is a lovely afternoon here.
I was out for a wee walk.
Was a fine day in Yorkshire for the cycling.
A win for Annemiek van Vleuten.

Hi, Rusty!
That is good that you fit in a walk, in between watching the cycling.
I feel that I failed the dog this afternoon........but she did enjoy her playtime in the garden!
Well done, Annemiek van Vleuten.
I do not recognise her name?
How did Lizzie Armitstead get on?
I am afraid that I do not know her married name.....
So who is on BGT tonight?

Hello, Elle!
You may or may not remember Annemiek from the Rio Olympic Games.
She was on her own in the lead of the womens road race with victory not far off, when she had a very bad crash on a descent.
She had several lumbar fractures and concussion, and was back on her bike ten days later.
She is probably the number one woman rider in the world today, and she and her fellow Dutchwomen are a very powerful team.
Lizzie finished in the main group.
Britain had a weakish team and though they did their best, were not much help to Lizzie.
Lizzie is married to fellow cyclist Philip Deignan, a Donegal man!
They have a baby born last year.
I think it is an uninspiring line-up tonight.
I can't remember any outstanding act, though there is a sword swallower on.
I'll like that!

Hi, Rusty!
No, I'm afraid I cannot remember Annemiek.
She sounds very courageous, if she was back on her bike again, so soon after such a bad crash at Rio.
I do however remember Lizzie marrying a Donegal man.......just not his name!
I still have half an hour to go of the Athletics.
The 100m Men's Final is at 8.15pm.
We have one Brit - Zharnel Hughes- still in it.
I shall watch that, and may then switch off the box, as you say BGT does not sound very interesting.
I have just realised that I shall miss next week's BGT Final anyway, as we go to Swanage next Saturday!
That suddenly seems to have come around very quickly......

Hello, Elle!
When Annemiek crashed at Rio it was very dramatic.
She hit the ground and never moved.
It was a high speed crash, and I feared the worst for her.
Then her team mate, Anna van der Breggen, passed by on her way to winning the gold medal.
Today, Annemiek won the Rainbow Jersey, and Anna was second.
I watched the women's 10,000 meters.
Poor Steph Twell.
She was soaked in sweat from the gun.
A worthy winner, though, was Hassan.
I am recording BGT.
I'll watch it before I meet La Bamba tomorrow.

Hi, Rusty!
I missed the women's 10,000m race.
So did Sifan Hassan win then ?
What about Helen Obiri? Was she taking part?
There is usually a lot of competition between Hassan and Obiri?
I cannot record BGT as I am recording "Casualty"...the two always overlap.
And I could not face watching more television today!
I have gone well over my 'tolerated' quota!
That is nice that you and Miss La Bamba are meeting up tomorrow!
Are you going to the Pine Cone?
We are having a family visit , too.
Our younger daughter and family are coming over about midday.
They go away the following weekend , too.
I think I told you they are going to a wedding in Ireland?

Hello, Elle!
Obiri was 5th.
I am like you, watched too much TV today.
Tomorrow will be the same.
Mens road race tomorrow.
It will take around 7 hours to do.
A long day!
You will look forward to seeing your daughter!

Good morning, Elle!
It is dull and dry here.
Road Race has just started, on Red Button..
Rainy in Yorkshire.
They won't allow the helicopters to fly, so no aerial shots of the race.
A long day ahead.
Another farce on BGT last night.
Far and away the best act last night, was, Alex Magala, the sword swallower.
But he did not make it.
The super fans chose two fair to middling singers to go to the final.
Not so good!

Good Morning, Rusty!
It is extremely wet here...raining very heavily indeed, and looks set in for the day.
I am just back from my walk...
I think I need a new cagoule!
Mine seems to have lost some of its water-resistance.
Maybe I shall put that on my Christmas list....
I hope the rain does not interfere too much with the cycling up in Yorkshire..... the roads will be potentially dangerous with the wet surfaces.
A pity about BGT...it seems I didn't miss anything, then, by not watching the Show last night?
Btw, if the sand artist does not win the Final next week, I shall definitely think the whole caboodle is rigged!
The family is coming over about midday....
What time are you off to the Pine Cone?
I hope you have great time!

Hello, Elle!
Still dry here.
Very wet in Yorkshire.
They have shortened the race and removed two climbs as access to them is flooded.
A great pity for the communities along the way.
Big crowds out, in spite of the heavy rain, though.
I meant to say, there was a nice touch yesterday as Lizzie and the women's race approached her home town of Otley.
She was allowed to go ahead of the race to greet her family and wellwishers at the side of the roads.
Kseniya or Alexa next week in the final for me.
I got a fine cagoule in ALDI.
Was less than a tenner.
Hope you enjoy your family.
I am off out at 11.
