Hi, Rusty!
I have just read the blog after seeing your post.....
I saw the photo....the poor little thing......it was well and truly squashed, wasn't it?
I actually saw that, this morning, on the video recording when I looked back .....but it wasn't at all a clear picture.
The horror of it is that I did not realise that it was the chick I was seeing...and when I watched Lassie feeding the body to the other two chicks, I had thought she was feeding them a fish!
Nature at its rawest!
Thank you for the parses.....
I would not have got either of those, even had I persisted longer!
I can "put the puzzle" to bed , now!
John sent me five crosswords today!
But I am welshing on the rest ...and I am going out with the dog while the sun is still shining!
Back in a bit!

Hello, Chris!
"Runt of the litter" sydrome?
Our dog was considered by Battersea to be the runt of the litter..... the last to be born and the only girl out of the three pups.
She might have been the smallest, and the weakest , but apparently she became the "boss"!

Good evening, Elle!
A fine evening here!
Yes, it was an unpleasant sight, but that's Nature!
My grandson has just left.
He has five-a-side football across the river tonight.
Hope the bridge stays open!
How is the cat, now?

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, it was somewhat of a shock to find out retrospectively that the chicks were eating their younger sibling!
But these things happen.....
I'm glad that you and your grandson had a good catch up.
Both my daughters phoned this evening.
They had just returned home from a long weekend break, one in Somerset, the other in Sussex.
I think they felt the benefit of a break!
Now, my cat...thank you for asking after him.
The cat is an enigma!
He has been playing...and does not seem to be in any physical discomfort.
And he is eating, tho' not up to standard.
But he is still excessively drinking water...and urinating extremely frequently.
His kidney function tests are all normal, though, and he shows no signs of having diabetes.
I'm playing it by ear for a few days to see if a clearer picture emerges.
Our veterinary practice operates 24/7, so, if I am suddenly concerned, I can contact them any time.
That is reassuring.

Hello, Elle!
You are keeping a watchful eye on your cat.
You can do no more.
Just had a text from Miss L-B.
She is taking me for a bacon roll tomorrow.
I'll look forward to that!

Good morning, Rusty!
A pleasant walk in the park this morning.....familiar faces and dogs back on the beat after the holiday weekend!
There is just time for a quick coffee.... and then I am away out to have my hair cut.
My turn today...and the dog is going to be trimmed tomorrow!
(Dog and I shall be a matching pair!)
Have fun with Miss L-B......enjoy your bacon roll!
Catch up later.......

Good day, Elle!
Happy haircut!
Just home from my outing with Miss L-B.
Had a fine time.
She loved Finn the dog on BGT, and hopes he wins!
I have not watched it yet.
Will wait until the cycling is finished.
It is quite a nice day here.

Hi, Rusty!
I, too, am home now …...with my hair an inch shorter!
And straight!
I forgot to watch BGT last night..... but will try to find Finn the dog on YouTube.
I have yet to see his act, having missed it previously , too.
Was there any other act you thought good?
How is the cycling going?

Good afternoon, Elle!
I watched BGT!
The acts going to the final from yestreen's heat are Finn the dog, and the children and "sir".
Not what I would have chosen, but that's showbiz!
I'd have had Brian, the singer, and Rosie and Adam, the skaters.
I do not think Finn and Dave are a good act, but everybody likes the dog!
Oh, and Alesha is expecting!
Cycling going well, and I like the Italian scenery!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I have just watched Finn the dog.....
Uhm...well, for starters , Finn himself - lovely German Shepherd that he is - contributed nothing to the act!
He was but a "prop"!
But the nation likes an animal...so who knows!
That is great news about Alesha's pregnancy!
I think she already has a child?

Now...I have just phoned Microsoft Outlook about the disgraceful misappropriation of my (and others') files.....

The conversation went......
Call Centre (to me): "What is your name?"
Me (in response) : I tell him my name.....
He (to me): Well, David......
Me: But that isn't my name.....

Is it any wonder, I got nowhere?!

I'm glad the cycling is going well!
I haven't even had chance to watch any tennis yet!

Hello, Elle!
I agree about Finn.
Paddy P has him favourite to win, at 3-1.
That's after one heat, though, so could well change as we progress through the heats.
I don't know anything about Alesha's private life other than she grew up in Welwyn Garden City.
And did she win Strictly Come Dancing?
I've seen her perform and thought she was very good.
So, now,....Outlook?
Are you trying them again to find a solution to your problem?
If at first you don't succeed.....
Be worth trying again, I think.
Wonder if there are any Outlook forums, where there may be an answer to your problem?
Cycling went well, though conditions were cold and very wet.
