Update, Elle!
Seems to be a bit of drama at the nest.
The littlest chick seems to be in trouble.
Lying on its back near the edge of the nest.
I do not know how it happened.
Hope the chick can recover.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear, I hope the tiny chick is all right?
I went straight to the osprey website on reading your post...but cannot make out anything?
Lassie is just sat in the middle of the nest...no chicks in sight, that I could see?
I hope the chick did not fall out of the nest?

"Blowing a hooley"!
I like that - another one for my little black book!
You will be pleased to have seen your son, and to hear all about their holiday.
Did he have photos to show you?
I have just been chatting to my cousin......it was my turn to phone this week.
She has been having heavy rain all day.
I hope the forecast will improve, because tomorrow she is going on a group holiday , just up the coast, to St Anne's for a week
I have never been there...although I have been to Fleetwood, and to Cleveleys, which I think are not far away from there.
No, I wouldn't have voted for the Lost Voice Guy, either!
I haven't seen the dog act...but we Brits are suckers for animals!
So it might be in with a chance?

Hello, Elle,
Lassie changed position to cover the chick with her tail.
The chick is silent now and I can't detect any movement.

Hello, Elle.
Lassie has changed position again and the chick is lying on its back near Lassie's tail.
I can not see any movement.

My son sent me a lot of pics when he was away.
I do not think much of the dog act but there is a hard luck story there, so that will count!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I can now see what I think must be the chick... the picture is not very clear, though.
There is certainly no apparent movement.
Was the baby moving at all, when first you saw it lying on its back?
This does not look good.
There is no updated blog...how about on Twitter?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the chick was trying to get off his/her back and was chirping constantly.
There has been no movement for quite a while.
The folk on the RSPB site scrolled back and they think the chick is either trapped, or was trampled on by Laddie when Laddie landed.
Nothing on Twitter.
It does not look good for the little one.

Hi, Rusty!
I've just had another quick look at the nest, but it's hard to make out what might be happening.
We shall have to wait and see what morning brings.
We've had our own mini drama here.
Our cat has been sick again.....
I had hoped he was recovering, and out of the woods.
This may mean another visit to the vet tomorrow.
We have been instructed to bring him back immediately if there appears to be any sign of regression.
I hope he will be okay......again, we'll see what happens in the morning.....

Good morning, Elle!
A bit drizzly here, so far.
I do not know what has happened overnight at the loch, but the littlest chick is not there, any more.
Possibly Lassie disposed of his/her body during the night.
A sad day, whatever has happened.
Nothing on Twitter from the rangers, yet.
Not so good news about your cat.
Best to get him looked at by your vet, I think?

Update, Elle!
There are reports on the RSPB site that the littlest chick was fed to its older siblings during the night.
No reports from the loch yet.

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine day here.
I am back from my walk......very quiet in the park this morning.
People must be lying abed!
That is very sad about the demise of the smallest chick.
I wonder what happened?
How does the RSPB know that the dead baby has been fed to its siblings?
Maybe the Rangers will give us some updated information today.
On the plus side....the cat seems perkier, and is eating ok this morning.
He has not been sick again.
I think I may have got over- alarmed yesterday.....
I shall watch him closely and see how he goes today.......
Should he need further treatment , I would prefer him to see our own vet, who is back from holiday tomorrow.
Any plans for today?
