Good afternoon, Elle!
I am going out for an extra walk this afternoon.
Take advantage of the nice day, then watch a bit of the Giro d'Italia.
It is a rare occurrence when anyone overtakes me!
The travellers are leaving Anna Maria Island today.
They are heading to Orlando for nine nights.
I think it's a two hour drive, but they may stop off on the way.
They sent me a photo of their breakfast today.
Looks incredibly healthy and very photogenic!
Huge strawberries, and other fruit on a waffle.
So, I take it you can successfully print off your puzzle now after the glitch the other day?

Hi, Rusty!
I have been overtaken by youngsters on the "right" side of 30 on occasions, despite my thinking that I walk quickly!
But I do walk a long way... my "Fit bit" showed that I walk in excess of ten miles a day!
So.…...can't be bad?
I didn't realise that your family was to be away for so long...another nine days in Orlando!
Very nice!
Yes, I managed to start printing the crosswords again a couple of days ago...no idea what happened there?
But all seems to be well at the moment.
Have a good walk!

Hello, Elle!
Ten miles is excellent!
A lot more than I do, anyway.
Yes, the travellers like in and around Orlando.
It's a nice part of the world, they say, and they like the food there.
As long as you can print off your puzzles now that is the main thing.
There are often glitches with technology, I've found!

Good evening, Rusty!
I like walking/ hiking!
I used to do a lot of walking around the Lake District when younger, staying at the various Youth-Hostels.
A group of us would go.....we covered miles...it was good fun!
We rowed on the various Lakes, too!
Nowadays I just cover smaller distances with the dog!
I have not caught sight of the chicks today?
Nor Laddie bringing a fish?
Is all well there?

Hello, Elle!
I liked hostelling, too, but on my bike.
The two chicks are doing away fine.
Seem to be feeding fine.
Getting bigger every time I look, it seems.
No sign of the third egg hatching.
Maya, down at Rutland Water, has three chicks, now.
Been a great day here, and now a beautiful evening!

Hi, Rusty!
Whereabouts did you go Youth -hostelling?
In Scotland?
The Lakes was the obvious place for us, as not all that far from Bolton.
About sixty miles I would think?
We were reminiscing about "those days", when we visited our friends in Staines recently!
Simple pleasures!
I meant to ask you whether you watched last week's BGT?
Anything of note....?
I did record it, but have not got around to watching any of my recent recordings.....
I am just about to watch the Athletics World Relays!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, Scotland, up North, Ullapool, and Tongue etc.
We camped as well, but never had a tent.
My favourite hostels were at Glenisla (it was haunted!) and Strathtummel.
Once we went to Cockermouth, but that was as far South as we got.
The bike racing often got in the way of hostelling, though.
I am trying to remember BGT.
There was a Cuban couple on. "Dust in the Wind"?
They were acrobatic artists and were very good.
Trying to remember if there was a good magician on?
Still nothing exciting on though.
No good dance acts, or choirs, so far.

Hi, Rusty!
You camped without a tent?
I never roughed it as much as that!
A Youth hostel or a caravan was the nearest I ever got to "primitive" living!
But we would walk whatever the weather.....with waterproof trousers and cycle capes over our rucksacks, when it poured with rain!
Up and down mountains!
I've just watched the clip of the acrobats - very graceful and very good.
An unusual portrayal, wasn't it?
I had to smile at the advice "Don't try this at home"!
I've just watched the World Relay Races.
This is the first time I have seen a Mixed Shuttle Hurdles Relay Race - is it completely new?
These were only highlights , so not much explanation.
There were other mixed Relay races ,varying distances, too.
The order in which the men and women ran was up to the individual team.
Did you see them?
I don't know when the races were first shown?
I recorded the programme from Sunday...but it wasn't live then.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, no tent or sleeping bags, just lay down by the fire and went to sleep and was woken by the cold very early in the morning, when the fire had died away.
Happy days!
I liked the hostels, too, especially the very remote ones.
The acrobats were excellent!
I have never seen the Relay racing.
I have two Tours to keep an eye on, just now.
California and Italy, that's quite enough for me to attempt to keep up with!
