Hi, Rusty!
I have been playing some very interesting ( unusual to me) games!
I must write down their correct titles, as perhaps Rosalind (or others) may find them of use in entertaining her (their) young grandchildren.
It is good fun!
The crossword puzzle is not getting much of a look-in....but I am about three -quarters way through......a few clues remaining unparsed, so far, though.
I like 4d: remap ; and 7d: Private Lives
I have the Latin puzzle saved to attempt later in the week!
A little voice is now telling me its owner is hungry.....
(Where do they put all the food?)
I had best go organise lunch.......

Good evening, Rusty!
I think we have exhausted the boys!
We took them for a two hour walk with the dog this afternoon, through the woods and over the fields.
They had a great time!
Since coming home, we have had an early dinner, played yet more games......and they are now bathed , and have retired to bed to read for a while.
Our daughter has driven home, as she and our son-in-law are going away tomorrow for a few days for a break.
I have finally found time to finish the crossword!

Good evening, Elle!
You seem to be having a great time with your family!
I have had a quiet day.
Just watching the golf now.
It is exciting!
Well done on your crossword puzzle.
I found it slightly tricky.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a beautiful day here...….extremely cold as yet, but blue sky and sunshine!
The boys are playing games on their ipods…….and I am about to take a look at the Everyman...….
Other household members - human, canine , and feline - are asleep!
Peace reigns…..
What are you up to today?

Good morning, Elle!
A nice morning here, too.
Staying home today.
There has been a fire at Pine Cone and it is closed today.
My very favourite bike race is on TV now.
Paris-Roubaix.
And I'll watch the golf later, though they are due thunderstorms there.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear, I' m sorry to hear about the fire at the Pine Cone.
I hope no-one is hurt? And there is not too much damage?
Do you know the cause of the fire?
I have finished The Everyman - a good puzzle today.... almost back on form, with some clever clues and excellent parsing.
Perhaps a few too many anagrams though......
I have been "solving" in between playing games!
I must look in on Lassie....I wonder how the eggs are doing?
So which race are you watching?

Hello, Elle!
There is no one hurt at Pine Cone.
I got a text last evening from my friend in Belfast about it.
She had found it on "social media".
I think it could be the timber sheds rather than the cafe.
The sheds are full of timber products, like logs, firewood etc.
That's all I know about it, so far.
Nothing in the local press that I can see.
Glad to hear the Everyman is back to normal!
I am watching Paris-Roubaix. "The Hell of the North" it's known as.
The golf has been brought forward due to approaching bad weather.

Hi, Rusty!
It is good that nothing serious happened at the Pine Cone....ironic , isn't it , that your friend in Norn Iron should hear of the fire before you did?
No doubt it was on Facebook..... or Twitter!
Yes, the Everyman is improving.... the clues are more skilful again, and every "bit" is used in the parsing, as previously happened.
I should like the puzzle to be a bit harder...
But, praise be, definitely heading in the right direction!
We are heading out for a walk shortly, despite protests from younger grandson who thought that "we had walked yesterday...."!
Back about tea time!
I hope the cycling goes well.

I thought I would suggest a program for any others, like me, who would welcome a change from the relentless showing of sport/talent shows on TV. Try The Repair Shop, usually BBC 1 at 4.30 weekdays and currently quite a lot on iPlayer. Episode 8 is especially poignant. The people on there have such breathtaking skills.....

Ros,
My wife watches it and I feel inadequate - but full of jealous admiration. Of course, it's a bit easier if you have he right kit .......
