Hello, Elle!
There was certainly luck involved with my third horse!!!
She came cruising to the last hurdle with a several lengths lead and made a pig's ear of her jump and her and Ruby fell to the floor!
But they both got up in one piece and will live to race another day!
Exciting stuff!
I was delighted to see Rachael Blackmore ride her first ever Cheltenham winner.
There will be more for Rachael, she is a class act!
I think bad weather is coming.
There is an 8.00 a.m. course inspection at Cheltenham tomorrow.
I think they are concerned about the wind and the grandstands.
If they cancel the racing, they will move the cancelled races to Saturday.

Hello, Pigale!
I did not see your village, unfortunately.
The EuroSport coverage started with only 73 kms to go.
Irelands Sam Bennett won today's stage.

It turns out that Klassical Dream's late owner made it to Cheltenham after all!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear! Well, at least the horse and Ruby himself were unhurt.
Was it just an error of judgement?
That is some weird tale about the widow of the horse's late owner, bringing his ashes (in her handbag) to "see" his horse win.
A most bizarre thing to do?
Even her "keeping" her husband's ashes seems extreme...... I thought one would bury them or scatter them?
Unless of course she kept them for this sole purpose?
I could understand the widow saying that her husband could look down from heaven and see his horse winning........
But bringing his ashes?
It seems a spooky choice of action?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the horse met the hurdle wrong and tipped over.
It happens.
I think Mrs Coleman knew about her husband's dream.
"To have a horse good enough for Cheltenham".
And after he died, she thought that taking his ashes to Cheltenham the day his horse ran would be helping to fulfil his dream?
I think it's a nice story and she seemed very happy about it, and so did Willie and Ruby.
It is quite windy here.
How is it in your neck of the woods?

Hi, Rusty!
Well, I still think it an odd thing to do.......I think of spirits and souls, rather than ashes?
But "to each his own"..... and I suppose if that made the widow and family happy, then that is all right?
It is still windy here, but lessening somewhat for now.......although tomorrow is forecast very heavy winds again.
What happened about the bridge?
Did your son get home from Fife all right?

Hello, Elle,
I think it was great what Mrs Coleman done and so did everyone connected with the horse.
And yes, you are correct, it was an odd thing to do, but a very nice odd thing, in my book.
My son is home but never mentioned the bridge, but it is closed to double decked buses just now....and more wind to come!

Good morning, Rusty!
I am just home from the park.
It was a very blustery walk, but the wind is less violent than it was yesterday.
No more trees are down......although there are falls of very hefty branches!
I hope it is not too bad up your way?
I am shortly taking the cat to the vet, in about forty minutes.
He is a devil to catch and put in the basket.......but is fortunately well behaved when we get there.
Any plans for today?

Good morning, Elle!
Great day here but strong winds a-blowing!
No plans today (so far).
Will be engrossed with Cheltenham later, though.
This is Ladies Day.
They got the go ahead to race after an inspection early this morning.
Puzzle is on the easy side today.
20a and 13d are new words to me.

Hi, Rusty!
I am just home from the vets.
All went well.
The cat has had his booster vaccinations, and a general health check...... he is doing fine!
You will be pleased that the horse racing is going ahead.
Are any favourites of yours running today?
I haven't yet had time to look at the crossword.
It is on my "to do" list after I have had some sustenance!
Raining here now......that wasn't on the agenda!

Hello, Elle!
Well done, the cat!
I'll be keeping an eye on Willie Mullins' runners, as usual.
Very tricky selecting winners here.
Be nice to see Rachael Blackmore get another winner seeing as she has broken her duck.
(How do you break a duck?)
I don't think you will have any problem with your puzzle!
