Hello, Elle!
No one was hurt and your roof will be like new!
So it will work out fine!
Rachael was brilliant again today!
Yes, I took an interest in her race and it was very profitable.
Now, the Gold Cup!
Ruby felt there was something not quite right with Bellshill and pulled him up.
A sensible decision and I hope he is fine for Punchestown.
Now, Willie Mullins has had six second places in the Gold Cup and thought he was destined not to win it.
But he won it today, at long last!
Willie walks on water!
Al Boum Photo won with Paul Townend aboard.
Great scenes in the unsaddling enclosure.
Willie's Mum, Maureen, was there.
She has not missed a Cheltenham Festival in over 60 years!
It has been a great Cheltenham, I loved it!

Hello Chrise
You are not alone! I too know of ladettes but don't think I have met any. Strangely enough, some of the so-called celebrity ladettes seem to have turned out OK!

Hi, Rusty!
Well done on your win with Rachael!
I know you only do it for fun, but it is nice to have a "gain" occasionally.
And even if you only put down your usual small bet, that is quite a good payback!
You can all go out to celebrate?
It is a pity about Bellshill - but very wise of Ruby to pull him up.
And good for Willie to have trained the winner of the Gold Cup.
A most satisfactory day all the way round.
And I have finished today's crossword...….
So I too am feeling satisfied!
Just a small query.... in 25a: why does "cabinet" mean "press"?

Hi elle
I don't know the clue, but one of the meanings of "press" was a cabinet for storing bed-linene and so on.

Hello, Elle!
Lovely afternoon here.
No sign of the snow, so far.
Yes, I made a wee profit.
I was delighted for Willie!
I remember his father, Paddy, winning the Gold Cup with the great Dawn Run.
Dawn Run is unique in racing as she is the only horse to have won both the Champion Hurdle and the Gold Cup.
Very well done on completing your puzzle, Elle!
In 25a, a meaning of "press" can be a cupboard/cabinet.
Church can be a "minster".

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, I've not had too bad a run with the crosswords over the last few days..
I think I must just have been lucky in that I was on the same wavelength as the setters.
I always find it easier to parse in retrospect.
I didn't know about a press being a cabinet or cupboard - thank you for that!
I have been watching "Eggheads", and there was a quotation about fairies.
Now, I have it in my head about a discussion a while back about a fairy "hoax" ?
Do you remember?
I think we were discussing it?
Two young girls produced fake photographs?

Hello, Chris!
Thank you for that.. I don't think Rusty was ignoring you...just politely answering my question to him.
Btw, I left you a message some time ago now...it will have got buried...and I cannot remember what it was about?
I think I was replying to you?

Oops, Rusty!
Somehow, the last line in my post to you has disappeared......
I went on to say "The Eggheads were talking about that very same thing!

Good evening, Elle!
I remember the chat about the fairies.
I had a book about it once.
The "fairies" were supposed to live at Cottingley, which is part of Leeds or Bradford.
Arthur Conan Doyle was involved, as far as I can remember.
I think, many years later, one of the little girls admitted it was a hoax.
I think their may have been a film made about it.
