Hello Elle and Rusty!
Well, I am just back from watching the Paris-Nice race.
In the end, I watched it just outside the Tavern where I meet my
mates, as the Sprint spot was way up by Super U, just over a
Km from the town, and much too far for me to walk.
We saw them come down the hill at great speed, grouped together,
and negotiate the sharp right hander with no problem.
My goodness though, what a great number of motorbikes and
cars both before the peloton and after! Having said that, I remember thinking just that every time I watched the Tour de France.
No caravane/convoy preceding the race though, so no freebies!
I reckon the Paris-Nice does not have the same budget as does the
Tour!
It was both windy and rather fresh waiting for the riders, particularly at that corner, but the sun and blue sky were there
to welcome them. Unfortunately the Tavern does not get the
sun at this time of the day!
I doubt you would have been able to see me - there does not
seem to be any TV coverage before 3.30 French time - they might
show the sprint by Super U, but the rest is probably of no interest.
I am glad to say that local folks were out to watch the race, although
not those who are working obviously.
This is about it - a lot of waiting for just a few minutes watching!
