Hello, Elle!
Not long home!
Quite a bit of snow at Pine Cone.
It is a good bit higher than here.
Very few customers when we were there, but they hope to get more when the church services are over.
Your daughter is being thoughtful and sensible, I'd say!
I enjoyed the Half Marathon.
Charlotte Purdue ran a cracker of a race to win.
I think she is the defending champion.
I meant to tell you about the race being televised, earlier in the week, but it slipped my mind.

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that the bad weather did not stop the two of you from going out!
Is it still snowing?
I did not see any of the elite races.....
Yes, Charlotte Purdue had won last year, too.
Mo Farah took the man's race , didn't he?
I hear that he is hinting about possibly taking up track racing again?
He says he misses it!
It is brilliant sunshine here...but, my word, the wind is fierce!
I have sheets and duvet cover on the line........and I think you may well see the Hill's Hoist sailing over your village soon, at this rate!

Hello, Elle!
It is a fine afternoon here, but more snow due in the evening.
It is melting now.
I don't know anything about Mo returning to the track.
It is fairly windy here but no sign of flying Hill's Hoists in the sky!

HI, Rusty!
Since taking my early morning walk, my day has degenerated into one of sheer indolence!
I have done three crosswords, read some of my "Morse"..... and yes, dare I admit it, I have "snoozed"!
This is a far cry from the energetic play with the grandchildren which I had earlier envisaged!
But I guess I must have needed the R & R!
Well, the high velocity winds certainly blew the earlier rain clouds away!
The sun is very enthusiastic, and the sky a bright blue!
Here is a link about Mo......

Good evening, Elle!
It was blue skies here, too!
But it was snowing at Cheltenham, I see!
Willie Mullins' horses have arrived safely, though.
Roll on Tuesday!
Thank you for the "Mo" link.
Interesting news from him.
He has been inspired by Laura Muir!
That should please her, I'd say!

Good evening, Rusty!
Whew! No snow here .......but what a thunderstorm we are having !
The rain is lashing down.... and the dog is stressed, because she does not like the thunder.....
It is certainly noisy.
Who would have believed it after such a windy, sunny day?
It is good that Willie Mullin's horses have already arrived safely.
Do you have a favourite?
Are you laying any bets?
I am just about to phone my cousin for our weekly chat........

Hello, Elle!
Is your Hill's Hoist still there, in the storm?!!!
No more snow as yet.
Yes, glad Willie's team have arrived safely.
And the rest of the Irish horses.
It's quite an operation bringing them over and getting them settled in the Cheltenham stables.
There are quite a few that I like, and Willie has a mare called Laurina that I am looking forward to seeing.
Ruby Walsh speaks highly of her, but I have not seen her run yet.
Oh, I'll have a few wee bets, I'm sure.
Cheltenham is one of the highlights of my sporting year!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been talking to my cousin.
All are well, but they have had snow!
Some has melted.....but, like you, more is forecast.
Let us hope it does not happen.
Yes, the Hill's Hoist is still standing!
I am not sure - you know me and Geography! - where Cheltenham is?
Gloucestershire? Is that South Midlands?
I suppose I could look it up...but it is simpler to ask?!

Hello, Elle!
No more snow, so far, and it is less windy.
What we had has melted away.
I would say Cheltenham is sort of South West England?
Yes, it is simpler to ask, but I am no geography whizz kid!
Just been reading that Kelly Catlin has died.
She was a top US cyclist. Triple world champion.
She was only 23 years old.
Don't know what happened to her.

Hi, Rusty!
I do not know Kelly Catlin, but earlier I had come across an article about her, when I was browsing the News online.
It did not say much, other than giving her age and listing some of her achievements, but it quoted her father as saying that she had committed suicide?
I remember thinking that it seemed surprising, as there was no suggestion of a reason.....
On the face of it, she had everything going for her.
How very sad.
Still wet here......
