Good day, Elle!
It is a fine day here, and mild.
My main plan for the day has come to nothing!
Miss O called off going to Pine Cone, so that was that.
So, I have watched "Millionaire" and "The Greatest Dancer" instead.
I put my tree away (no decorations) a few days ago, but I have left some cards on display because I like them.
They stay up all year.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh, that was a shame for your trip to the Pine Cone to be cancelled!
So...what did you think of "The Greatest Dancer"?
I have not yet watched the recording, so, so far, have no viewpoint to offer.
(Ros did not sound very enamoured, judging by her post)
According to the superstition, if one doesn't take decorations down by the end of January 6th, then they should stay up until Ash Wednesday!
Or even beyond......so you will not suffer bad luck by keeping your cards in situ!
Not that I believe in such "superstitions"!

Hello, Elle!
I will be going to Pine Cone during the week with La Bamba, for she is not back at Uni, yet
I do not believe in superstitions, too.
But I have an open mind about the "little people".
I have Christmas cards up from 2017 because they mean something to me and I like them!
I watched the "The Greatest Dancer", but I do not think it's for me.
I'll give it one more week, though.
I thought it far too schmaltzy and razzamatazz for my taste.
I much prefer structured dances like jiving, Latin American, and Irish step dancing.
But...there were several talented dancers on, and more who were much less talented.
I don't think talent is enough to win the competition, though.
Personality is very important, too.
That's my opinion, and yours may be completely different!
Not impressed by Alesha or Jordan.
The "Dance Captains" were OK, I suppose.
But, I'll give it one more chance next week!

Hi, Rusty!
I have yet to watch "The Voice" in its entirety , having missed the first half yesterday!
Watching this has priority over viewing the new dance show......which to be honest, I am only going to look in on just to see how far they have copied the format from "The Voice" !
I doubt I shall continue to watch it in future weeks ...unless I am unusually impressed.
Have a look on YouTube and see if you can catch Lonnie Donegan's son?
All the decorations are down now!
The lounge looks very bare without the tree.
The Xmas cards are gone, being now replaced with all my husband's birthday cards.
I've done both my usual Sunday puzzles.......just one parse outstanding from the Everyman - which is unusual for me.....
I shall ponder it over a coffee and a piece of Christmas cake!

Hello, Elle!
I found young Mr Donegan on YouTube.
It only showed him singing, and Tom turning his chair to watch him.
He is an OK singer, for me, nothing great.
I am glad you apostrophied "husband's", or it would look like you were a serial marrier!
I am off to the post box, before the light fades.

Good evening, Rusty!
I thought Peter Donegan sang well enough?
But I didn't see the whole of his act...only the reaction of Tom Jones and their singing together afterwards.
And I have since been reading online today, that some viewers tweeted in (is that the correct terminology?) to say that they thought it a "fix".
I have yet to watch the programme fully - that might not be until tomorrow - so I might have more of an opinion about it all, once I have seen it properly.
I did, however, think the two singers (both female) following Lonnie's son were terrific!
Did you see/ hear them, as well?

Hello, Elle!
No, I do not watch The Voice, Elle, just looked at young Donegan on YouTube.
He was OK, but I would not say any better than that.
I read about the alleged "fix".
Maybe it was set up, but it appears to have been warmly received, though?
I remember the fix on BGT with Jules and Matisse, her dog, who was substituted for another dog for part of the act.
Remember?
And it was not part of young Donegan's act for the show, I do not think?
Was it only Tom Jones who chose him?
I do not know how they judge etc on that show.
I did not see the girls act, but I wish them well!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I remember the issue over Jules and her dog(s)......but that, in my book, was very definitely "cheating", and I think the BGT prize money should have gone to the runner up!
I do not know who 'turned' for Peter Donegan....I will report back when I have watched the programme through from the beginning.
The programme in its early stages ( before the "live" shows) is presumably pieced together, as in BGT?....so I do not know what has gone on behind the scenes?
The show makes excellent entertainment viewing, whatever its drawbacks, and I do enjoy it.
Especially the rapport between the coaches.
I don't know where today has gone?
The hours have just zoomed by........

Hello, Elle!
Ah! I have the advantage on you!
I know who turned! I will not say, though.
I have changed my opinion about his performance.
He sings well up until he starts shouting the lyrics (though the audience loved that) and that is what spoiled him, for me, I think.
I do not know the other judges.
Did Boy George be on the show one time?

Hi, Rusty!
I have been talking to my cousin.
All is well up north , although she says it is very cold.
Now.....two of the coaches on "The Voice " - Tom Jones and Will.i.am have been there since the very beginning of the show.
Jennifer Hudson has been on two (I think) previous shows...and Olly Murs took part last year and this
But I think you know Olly?
Yes, Boy George took part for one season., replacing Tom Jones for that year, when the BBC dropped Tom.
ITV took over the following year and invited him back!
