Good afternoon, Elle!
Have a look in Firefox "extensions" or "add-ons"?
You may find an adblocker there?
Several posters have said they are "one tick in the box" "Captcharers" and all on Chrome, except Cerasus who is using Safari.
I had an idea Malone was using Edge and no pictures showing, but I have forgotten which thread it was on.
It could well be the pictures are putting folk off from posting.
They are fairly small and mediocre quality.
I am off for a dander to the postbox (well wrapped up!)

Good afternoon, Rusty!
After a lot of problems - I hate modern technology- I have downloaded Adblock Plus free to Chrome.
I shall try sending some posts via Chrome and see what happens....
I cannot go on as I have been doing...both my eyes - and my temper - are suffering!
(Although Malone did mention Edge , I thought she sounded doubtful as to what browser she was in fact using? Apologies, Malone , if not so!)
If Chrome also has me counting traffic lights, mountains and pink elephants ...I shall go eat some more worms ......
You and that postbox are well acquainted!

Sending through Chrome...

Two sidewalks , one of cars - so that quashes the Chrome theory!

Hello, Elle!
This gets stranger and stranger!
I do not get pictures on Chrome.
(This is from Brave)
You appear to be a jinx!
You have not been annoying the folk in the haw bush again?
I thought Edge was a browser?
My grandson has a very important exam on Friday and didn't I post him a good luck card, was why I was at the post box.

Hi, Rusty!
It is not just me though, Rusty!
There are several posts coming through now complaining also about Chrome.
Norah and Mamya sometimes experience pictures......and see Tintin's post on the "Over Zealous Captcha" thread.
There may be others who are just giving up and going away......
This latest experience with Chrome has solved one problem for me at any rate....
I shall just stick with Edge, as it seems to make no difference!
( Edge IS a browser- I don't know what you mean?)
What exam is your grandson taking?
( Isn't he an accountant? Or am I muddled yet again?)
Fingers crossed for him in his exam!

Two lots of cars and one of traffic lights this time!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, a pity some folk are struggling, and why some of us are fine on Chrome, and others are not, is a mystery.
It is way above my head to comprehend.
Yes, there will be those who give up and go away.
Not a good sign for the site.
My grandson is an accountant, yes.
This exam is to gain another qualification to help further his career.
I do not know what is it called, but I do know he has an amazing work ethic, and I hope he does well in his exam.

Hi, Rusty!
Your grandson sounds similar to my younger daughter.
She is always studying for additional qualifications which will enhance her career prospects.
She does well to juggle a demanding job with caring for two young children.
You mentioned the hawthorn tree......
I guess I forgot to tell you that it died?
We had to have it cut down.
I am unsure what happens in such circumstances -- do the little folk relocate?
I have finished my crossword puzzle.
There are two I cannot do....
18a: Meat and fish for a judge in Corsican capital (9)
C?R?A???O
4d: Ruling starts on this weight of cake (5,2,7)
S?O?E / ?F / ???N?
I have no ideas.
I have just been talking to my daughter for the past hour, on her way home from work!

Hello, Elle!
My grandson seems to live in the Uni library!
He is a grafter.
You cut down the hawthorn tree? Good grief!
Seven years bad luck!
The little folk will never forgive you!
That's why you can't tick a box on Chrome!
I had never heard of 18a, Elle.
It is Carp (for AJ) accio.
It is food, I think.
4, The weight is a "stone" and the cake is quite close to where I live!
"Scone".
That's where Perth Races are held.
Though a scone and a cake are quite different.
Better known as the Stone of Destiny.

I have Mozilla Firefox, elle. About one time in 10 I have to count something, so far only cars.

I don't like carpaccio as it is usually raw meat or fish, sometimes with just the outer edge seared. I am reading "Sapiens" at the moment, which says that cooking was a big step forward in human evolution, with which I agree. Why go backwards?

I am also reading "The Golden Thread" about yarn. A .7mm piece of twisted fibre has been found many, many thousands of years old. I am wondering how you find something that small- microscope, presumably.

Hi, Rusty!
But, she protests vehemently, the May tree was completely dead!
The gardener thought it best it came down.
Surely, it isn't bad luck under those circumstances, is it?
After all, it was not an intentional act of destruction.
Surely the fairies will understand that? and forgive me?
"Carpaccio" is completely new to me, too.
And I did not know of "The Stone of Scone", either, though probably I should have done.
We have no "Eggheads" all this week.
I do not know why?
I cannot recall any explanation at the end of last week.
I shall read my book!

Hello, Chris!
Thank you for your help - both those were new to me.

Ros, I have played around with various browsers all the morning.
And what a waste of my time!
It seems to make no difference which one I use, I am encountering the same problems.
I shall confine myself just to talking on here on the PCT, and resist replying to crossword queries for the time being, as by the time I have ploughed through umpteen pictures, the moment has long gone!
( And the query usually has been resolved fortunately by some one else!)
