Elle, I succumbed and ordered 2 x 500 pieces jigsaws - both at
reduced prices - subject matter interesting to me, one showing
the inside of an old British pub with old beams and plenty of horse
shoes to decorate them, bar, fireside etc....
If I can't go to an old English pub here, at least I'll enjoy doing the
puzzle!

I should receive them on Wednesday from Planet Puzzle - do you
know them? They are very efficient and have a lot of choice.
I'll try and do them sitting down, but your idea was too tempting!

Hi, Rusty!
Update......
Roger Federer just lost his Semi Final match to Alexander Zverev, the younger man winning 7-5; 7-6.
I am disappointed , but Zverev played very well and deserved his win.
He will play either Novic Djokovic or Kevin Anderson in the Final tomorrow.

Well done, Pigale!
I am glad my suggestion bore fruit.....
I hope you enjoy the jigsaws!

Hello, Elle!
It has turned quite a bit colder here.
A good result for young Zverev!
I am not sure if the Sholach trees will be at Crystal Palace this year.
Their website is a bit out of date.
Now, Elle, I have been having a wee ponder to myself regarding why we only have to tick a box on Chrome, but on other browsers we have to find traffic lights and palm trees and goodness knows what else.
My conclusion is that reCaptcha is not working properly on Chrome.
Why that should be, I do not know, but it obviously, to this layman, is not.
I have added another couple of books to my Christmas list!

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been out in the garden and it feels very much colder here, too.
I think it may be time for me to get out my thick padded dog walking coat.....it is going to feel decidedly nippy out in the early mornings!
I haven't bothered to experiment with other browsers, Rusty.
I am happy with Edge on my desk top computer, and that is what I mostly use.
I do have Chrome on my Hudl, but I am not using the tablet at present, because I cannot get rid of all the ads, and they bother my eyes.
I cannot find an adblocker that will work on it?
Every (free) one I try, I am told it is 'not compatible with my appliance'!
What other books have you chosen?

Hello, Elle,
Yes, the drop in temperature is quite noticeable this night.
I agree ads are bothersome, Elle, but for every problem there is a solution!
You do not need to install an adblocker.
My solution is to download a browser with a built in adblocker.
I use "Brave" browser on my tablet instead of Chrome.
I think it is faster than Chrome and has no ads, and it's free.
There are several browsers with built in adblock, including one browser by Adblock themselves.
Have a look in Google Play Store?
My books added, are "The Last Hillwalker" by John Burns, and "Farthest North" by Fridtjof Nansen.
My wee list is growing!

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, thank you for the advice.......I shall investigate!
I have gotten myself into rather a mess with my Hudl (don't laugh!) .......
It seems to be cluttered with all sorts of things that I didn't download...and do not even know what they are.
I think I shall hand it over to my daughter when she comes next weekend and ask her to clear it up.
And then I can start all over again with a clean slate!
I have just discovered that the second Semi - final between Novak and Kevin Anderson at 8 pm is not being shown on the BBC.
Grrrh!

Hello everyone

Glad you ordered the puzzles, pigale, and that your operation went well. We have a jigsaw swap round here but I do not do them.
I have collected a lot of old bras for "Smalls for All" and made a parcel today. Also went to the National Archives and looked at muster rolls of ships from the 1790s. Faded ink, huge heavy volumes, priceless information! But not about my man. I had to look at the volumes, though, to make sure he wasn't there. I am writing about him.
It took 22 minutes to drive back over Kew bridge! I may never go again.

Time for "Titly, Mummy" Ho ho. How true.

Hello Ros,

Thanks Ros - yes, I hope the puzzles will keep me occupied.

Talk of having plenty of rest! I had a busy afternoon too, going
with my local friends to the pharmacist for my prescription and I
needed to be there myself to collect the meds - Then onto the
DIY shop where they sell gas bottles for heater and petrol for
my petrol stoves. Plus a few other errands in town - it turned out
to be a tiring day !

You seem to have had a busy day yourself! I used to know Kew and liked the place, but it may have changed now.

'Titly, Mummy' ???? What is this? I can't find it on Google!

t's a small boy's reference to "Strictly Come Dancing" which holds the nation (or some of it, Ibet not rusty or chris!) in thrall on Saturday and, to some extent Sunday, evenings. The ladies doing Latin American dancing wear very little. My grandson was about 4 when he said that in all innocence!

How sweet! Young children do come out with real pearls!

Yes, I have heard of the program - One of my British friend's
mother used to be glued to the TV when it was on - I have never
seen it myself.

I wonder whether you meant "tiddly" mummy!
