Hello Pigale

I am sorry to hear about your terrible experience - what a lot you have been through.

Glad you are home and posting again. I enjoy your contributions to Clueless and Peer Review.

I agree, rusty - the "with" isn't perfect

But surely the wrong way round, Rusty?
London area is "Soho"...move the "h" to the left.... giving the answer as "shoo" = get away (definition)

Hello, Elle!
Rain hammering down here!
I have had neither a Volvo nor a Renault, but would go for the Volvo, I think.
Excellent reputations.
I like Japanese cars. Which reminds me, I'll have to change the clock time in it, this week some time.
I am sure your local Sainsbury shop will stock Mr Nairn's finest oatcakes!

Hello, Jigjag!
I surrender on your other clue.
I suspect local knowledge would be a great help to cracking it!
On your 'flu jab.
One year the nurse gave me another jab, a one off, but I can not remember what is it for!

Hello Rusty

Good - you got it as I knew you would. It is named after the nearby dock and I imagine that name comes from New Brunswick, as you suggest probably because of the Liverpool/Canada trade years ago.

I was trying for a clever clue in which Burns could be the poet, with the Scottish connection, or someone having burns treated. It is an idea for the future.

The other one is harder or most of it is.

Hello Elle
Yes it probably is BP - I will know what to expect now.

It was SHOO in fact, though I needed the crossers to decide.

Hello to jigjag and Chris,
and again to Rusty and Elle,

Thank you so much everyone for your nice comments - I have missed
not keeping up with you, though perhaps not posting myself, I
always look into this thread and get news from everyone.

Yes indeed, perhaps my stupidity in lifting something too heavy was
a blessing in disguise, as Elle and Rusty intimate - They certainly
were quick to uncover a more serious problem!
The emergency dept in our local hospital is brilliant, it is known in
the area.

But, I STILL ACHE .......... and am not a patient full of ........patience!

Jigjag, thanks for your comment on Clueless and Peer Review - it is
true that I like having a go, but not sure I'll take part tomorrow
as brain somewhat on the slow side at present: I am on two different lots of Morphine presently, in an attempt to reduce this
back pain! I might put in a 'for fun' entry if the word inspires me!

Hi, Rusty!
I am sorry about your rain!
Our sunshine is glorious.......
I wish I could send you some!
Oh and another handy thing about our Volvo....we do not need to adjust the clock time from Summer to Winter schedule....and, of course, vice-versa......
The car does that for itself!
You asked about the "one-off" jab that you had?
I think that would be the pneumococcal vaccination......
(Even I agreed to have that!)
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/pneumococcal-vaccination/
Yes, we do buy Nairns oatcakes... I think they are the nicest.
My book "The Rabbit Proof Fence" has just arrived!

Hello, Chris!
You should not have needed the crossers!
It all depends on which way you are asked to move the "h".....
See my post to Rusty on 23573....!

Hello, Elle!
I think you could be right with "shoo"!
A good spot!
Our rain has stopped but it looks a bit changeable outside.
I thought my car would change the time automatically, but no.
Me and the handbook have to go out and do it.
I think you are right about the jab.
It was a name like that, I think.

Hello Pigale

I have a clue for you - not a very good one, and you will have to see my earlier postings to understand it.

How Jigjag described return to current activity - dropping can - not good for Pigales's problem (4,5)
