Hi, Rusty!
I am reading my Bill Bryson book....
The cat and I are the only ones on full alert here......my husband and the dog are fast asleep!
Not even my daughter's ringing on the house phone has awakened either of them!
She called to move the gate posts!
She was wanting to come over here, instead of going out to the park.
But as I hadn't taken out the dog early this morning, because of the planned outing later...I couldn't agree to that, as the dog deserves her long walk!
So sticking to Plan A!
There is a Triathlon (highlights only though) showing on BBC 2 at 2pm, if you like watching that?
It is the men's race in the World Series Grand Final in the Gold Coast, Australia.
I have remembered to set the recorder for the correct date, this time!

Yes, I have met Katz; he appears very near the beginning of the book......
But this is not a "new" book for me....I have read it before.
I rediscovered it, when book -sorting.
I'm surprised that horse riding is allowed on the golf course?
Were the riders course officials?
We used to get a couple of mounted police regularly in the park... they always asked me whether my (previous) dog would like to accompany them on their rounds, as he loved horses and was very well- behaved with them.
And off they would all go......

No, I imagined your daughter had got herself larger transport that would not go through your gate!
I do not know if horses are allowed on the course but these two and their riders were there.
They were fine, did not bother anyone.

We have had a very pleasant afternoon!
We walked a long way - to the dog's delight - and our exhaustion!
It was good fun!
And very warm........ no coats/ jackets needed.
The temperature was up in the mid twenties.

Ah, I fear that I shall never live down that small slip of the tongue........or mistype of the finger!
We don't even have any 'gate posts' either!
Our front garden does not include a drive......our car has to remain parked on the road.
I have just realised how quickly the afternoon/ early evening has gone by....
It is fast growing dark here, and nearly time for me to phone my cousin!
