Hi, Rusty!
My daughter lost her connection with me, when she had to get off the defunct train!
I haven't heard any more from her as yet.
When she did eventually get home, she would have dinner to cook and then get the boys bathed and in bed.
I expect she will text me later, when all this is accomplished.
No, I hadn't heard of Terry Fox.
I have read extracts from your link with interest.
What a courageous and caring young man.
He achieved such an incredible amount in his, sadly short, life time.
Coincidentally, I have just watched an " Eggheads" edition, where the Challengers were all para - athletes.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, your daughter will be running a bit late due to broken train.
She will be in touch later.
Yes, Terry was a remarkable young lad.
They renamed the road in his honour, Courage Highway, I think.
I am looking forward to the documentary.
And Amazon has books about him...
Here is a short film about him.
Have a tissue handy.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I had a text from my daughter.
The passengers were later told to get back on the same train, because it had been "rebooted"!??
( I thought that was what one did to a computer?)
Anyway, she reached home safely, albeit much later than usual.
That was a most inspiring film about Terry Fox.....
Thank you for sending it.
And what support he received, from family and friends; and from the general public in supporting his aims.
Sad ...yet uplifting.....

Hello, Elle!
Maybe computers run the trains?
I have heard of rebooting.
Not certain what it means, though.
Yes, it was a nice film about Terry.
He was a hero to everyone in Canada!
His mother will cherish her pink waste basket for ever, I'd say.
Terry was one of the good guys!

Update, Elle!
I have been digging!
Canada minted a dollar coin with the Queen on one side and Terry on the other side.
I think he is the first Canadian to appear on a Canadian coin.
Quite a few on eBay.

Good morning, Rusty!
A glorious day here....blue sky , sunshine.....although only 8C when I went out at 7.45 am
Fantastic walking weather!
That was a nice idea to honour Terry, and acknowledge his fund raising efforts, by introducing a coin in memory of him.
I wonder whether the coins were in general usage...or whether they were considered more as collectors' items?
I must ask my Canadian friend (British expat) what she knows of him.
A busy day ahead, I think...reorganising is on my agenda....wardrobe...and books clearance!

Good day, Elle!
Not so nice here, but the the rain has stopped.
I have just watched the documentary on Terry.
"Into The Wind".
If you ever get the chance, watch it.
It was excellent, though very sad.
I did a bit of digging about the coin.
I was intrigued as to why the Terry Fox dollar coin was called a "loonie"?
It turns out that "loonie" is the term that Canadians use for the one dollar coin. (It's in Chambers, and was new to me.)
They have the bird called a "loon" stamped on every dollar coin.
Terry replaced the loon on his own coin.
Loons are known for their lovely call.
How is the wardrobe rearranging going?

Hi, Rusty!
"Negotiation" and "co-operation" are the names of the game!
All has gone very smoothly!
My husband removed all the accumulated "clutter".......leaving only clothes ......from the wardrobe in question,......
And I have rearranged all to my satisfaction!
There are no longer any coats hanging on my bedroom door.....
And all shoes are now neatly stacked in boxes on the top shelf of the wardrobe.
A good, satisfactory morning's work!
I am pleased!
( There is now only one problem.......!)
It is definitely time for a coffee!

Good evening, Elle!
Three wardrobes ?!! Three of them ?!! Three ???!!!
Good golly!
You must have an enormous amount of clothes !!!
I make do with a single one.
What kind of apples do you eat?
Are they your own, or do you buy them?
I bought apples today, first for a long time.
I got fed up of ASDA pears.
They are far too hard.
So, I got Pink Lady apples.
They seem quite tasty?
