Hello, Elle!
Here you are! http://www.bbc.co.uk/northyorkshire/voices2005/glossary/glossary.shtml
Hope this works! Look at "U".
Up North is down South to me!
I thought you knew "ana"?
It has cropped up before, I think.
It was a nice clue, I thought?

I'm always amused that cricket commentators from the sub-continent are unable to describe a googly as a "wrong'un", and instead say "wrong one"!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, there is no disputing that "un" is written down there, given as Northern dialect in both Lancashire and Yorkshire!
As indeed are very many other words that I totally fail to recognise!
I guess I never really heard much "dialect" spoken in my day-to day life, when I lived in Bolton.
( I must have led a very sheltered existence!)
I will forthwith offer a mental apology to the crossword setter for my doubts as to its authenticity!
I am enjoying Jo's book.
She comes across as such a pleasant "normal" person - just as she has always appeared whenever I have seen her in any Athletics events.
She and Paula Radcliffe once ran in a charity event - "Race for Life" - in which my daughter was participating.
My daughter said that both were lovely to all the other runners, and very encouraging!

Hello, Elle!
Ah, now, the setter is doing his/her best!
It took me a while to figure out the Nothern one, and I needed Chambers to confirm it!
Yes, I like Jo, too.
I would think "This Mum" is a very good book!
I have started "Where The Red Fern Grows" and it is very good!
It is written for 12 year old boys...and me.
Now you mentioned running.
Here is my favourite running newsreader being interviewed.
Sophie Raworth!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a very miserable morning here; dull, chilly and drizzly.
I am just back from walking the dog, who, most unusually for quite a while, has needed a rub down!
Yes, I think you would enjoy Jo's book!
I am progressing through the various stages of her early life and training at the moment....
I did not know that soon after she and Gavin were married, they travelled the world, doing their running training (to keep fit and up to scratch) as they went!
What a fantastic idea!
Yes, I recognised Sophie Raworth from your clip......and that was definitely she who I saw being interviewed before the start of the half marathon on Sunday!
A versatile and adventurous woman!
What sort of day lies ahead of you?
Any plans?

Good morning, Elle!
Lovely day here with a strong breeze.
I was out on a task or two earlier today.
Have the rest of the day to myself....I think.
Sophie is the real deal!
She collapsed during one London marathon, spent an hour being treated in an ambulance, then got out and finished her run.
Any progress on the "wardrobe hunt"?

Hi, Rusty!
I have been doing a few household tasks...….
It is time now for a coffee and a look at the crossword!
Wardrobes?
Uhm....
Maybe it is time to draw up battle lines.....
No, seriously.....I am happy to dispense with the idea of a further wardrobe, if my husband and I can come to some sensible arrangement about the existing ones!
Ironically, you were not so very far from the truth, when you joked about my using the "new" wardrobe for my books!
Because this, in essence, is what my husband has done with our present wardrobes!
He has piled all sorts of objects in the bottoms of all the wardrobes....both his and mine!
Thus I cannot hang full length coats in my "own" wardrobe!!
I am seeking a compromise......
I will give up the idea of another wardrobe..........if he will clear all the clutter accumulated in the bottom of "my" wardrobe!
That sounds like a fair deal to me?

Hello, Elle!
It's a good puzzle.
I did not like 19a, or 16d, though.
I liked 2d, a lot, and 27a.
I was ages getting the parse for 18a.
All done now.
I do not know about your husband and you, but I know I have far too many clothes.
I have 5 winter jackets, and oodles of M&S trousers and shirts.
So maybe a clothes clear out would be your solution?
Some charity could benefit and you would not need to spend on a wardrobe and "van and man"!
Mind you, it's easy for me, as I just have myself to please.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I thought it a good puzzle too!
And, although there are still three clues I haven't done - and two still to parse- I didn't think it too difficult.
My favourites were 1a and 10a.
Yes, I liked 27a: "sawhorses", too, although it was a new word for me!
Funnily enough , I saw 18a; "minus", straightaway!
But I cannot parse 16d: run across = meet (def)
and 21d: amity = friendship (def)
I see "a" and "y" for "year"...but "mit"?
To me , it is the German word for "with"!
Still three to do......6a; 22a; and 4d.
I have all the crossing letters, but still no answers.
No, the problem, Rusty, is not that I have too many clothes,...but simply that there is no room lengthwise in which to hang them!
(I can see that I am not explaining very clearly?)
