Hello, Elle!
Yes, I was up and doing, early today!
That's the best way!
There is a chill in the air but it is a lovely day here.
Miss ATW has just had a call from the garage saying her car has passed MOT test, been serviced, and is ready for collection.
So....that's fine!
Yes, I delivered her to work, too.
Was my first time in that part of town for over 5 years.
There have been plenty changes, what with the waterfront development and new road layouts etc.

Hi, Rusty!
It is a tad nippy indoors, too.......I have put the heating on.
That is good news about Miss ATW's car.....are you picking her up after work to go and collect it from the garage?
Were you down in the part of town where the new V & A Museum has been built?
It is due to open soon , isn't it?
Will you go and investigate?
My friend has been and gone now......it was lovely to have a chat and catch up.
( I didn't get chance to blow the dust off the piano......he arrived early!)
I shall take a look at my crossword now, before the time for the afternoon walk comes around!

Hello, Elle!
She has collected her car.
Think she got a lift from a work colleague, to get it.
Her employment is fairly near the V and A.
It opens very soon.
I have not seen it yet, close to, but it looks impressive from the river.
I have not looked at my paper yet.
Crossword puzzle will be later today!

Hi, Rusty!
I think your V & A will be well worth a visit?
The building certainly looks superb from the photographs, and I am sure it will all be very interesting.
There are to be various special Opening Exhibitions, aren't there?
I have made a start on the crossword, but am finding it very heavy -going indeed, today.
There are some clues that I feel quite proud of myself for managing to do..... but on the whole, a lot are beyond my very limited capabilities!
You will probably be happy with it, as you enjoy a challenge!
I am away out with the dog.......

Hello, Elle!
There was a V&A, Dundee, pullout in my Times today.
Probably just in the Scottish edition, I'd say.
They are expecting it to be very popular.
I have finished my puzzle.
It was a toughie, for me!
One or two had me wondering if I was correct or no.
Just a bit on the vague side.
A fine evening here!

Update, Elle!
There is a new series of "Treasures of the British Library" starting next week on Sky Arts.
The last series was excellent.
Fiona Bruce is the first guest.

Hi, Rusty!
It has been a great afternoon - and now a beautiful evening - but it never warmed up!
We've had the heating on all day!
I remember your telling me interesting bits about the last edition of "Treasures of the British Library".
Yes, it was a really worthwhile programme.
You should enjoy this new series.
No, I never really got to grips with the crossword puzzle!
I liked "Ameer"; "canal"; angstrom; Jeremiah; and "R and R".
However, I have seven clues still outstanding.....and no idea how to solve them!
I shall draw a discreet line under today's efforts!
I did get the anagram for "Barrow-in -Furness" though!
Now in Cumbria, originally part of Lancashire.......
We have friends living there.
But if you thought the puzzle hard, then what chance did I have?!
I did quite well at this evening's "Celebrity Eggheads" though!

Hello, Elle!
I had my heating on for a while too.
The British Library series is excellent, I think.
Very interesting and educational.
One of my favourites, violinist Nicola Benedetti, is in one episode.
I am looking forward to it.
I thought it was a testing puzzle.
Even some of the answers had me scratching my head as to how the setter had created the clue to achieve the result.
Anyway, a fresh challenge tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, and Saturday's crossword - despite being a prize puzzle - for some reason is always easier!
We do not have any plans for this coming weekend as yet.
We have been very child-orientated over the last few weeks!
Great fun though it has been, I think perhaps we need a leisurely weekend to catch up on some R &R!
The Great North City Games at Newcastle are tomorrow....
And on Sunday, it is the Great North Run....... the half- marathon between Newcastle and South Shields.
We must be coming to the end of the Athletics events, I think?

Good morning, Elle!
Fine morning here!
I don't find the Saturday puzzle easier!
Laura Muir says this is her last outdoor event of the year.
So, yes, the outdoor season must be ending.
I have not looked at the TV schedules to see what is on over the weekend, though.
