He appears to be very keen on the idea!
But what a terrible disaster to happen to Kristina Vogel.
I read through the link that you sent.....what a long rehabilitation time must lie ahead of Kristina now..
It doesn't sound as though she will regain any of the use of her lower body , does it?
She seems to have a lot of support, and says she is thinking positively ......but what a dreadful tragedy.
One never knows just what lies ahead.

Be interesting to see if Greg is any good on the bike.
An awful tragedy for Kristina.
She was a great rider with a brilliant career.
A superfast sprinter.
Her injury appears to be permanent, but who knows in the future what treatment may be possible for her.
She was a part-time policewoman, too.
Some of my young ones are going to the ice hockey tonight.
Our local Stars are playing the Belfast Giants.
Will be great entertainment!

I think Greg said that, realistically, there was no knowing at this stage whether he could make a success of track cycling as a future career, but he was interested in the sport, and wanted to give it his best shot.
Sounds fair enough?

That's good of Greg that he's having a go.
He has the build of a pursuiter, not unlike Ed Clancy.

The Arena is about 2 miles away, on the edge of Camperdown Park.

The Ice Arena is fairly close to you then...... very convenient if it is a sport which you would watch?
I've always felt it a pity that the Athletics Stadium at Crystal Palace is no longer used for major sporting events, since the building of the O2 Stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
It is much nearer than going up to East London.
I once saw Seb Coe run there
And met Dame Kelly Holmes being interviewed on the bridge!

I have been reading the cycling press about Greg.
He has had encouragement from Jo Rowsell and Dani King, and is encouraged by Rebecca Romero's Olympic medals in rowing, then gold when she switched to cycling.
We shall see!

Miss O did ice dancing as a junior, and karate, and cross country running!

I think she deserved to lose the match.

Just Miss O and me at Pine Cone today.
Had a nice time!
Miss O was telling me that her Gran won first prize in a painting competition, at the Festival last week.
It was a seascape featuring a sea stack.
She also entered a knitting competition and the Dundee cake competition.
A talented Gran!
I saw little of the Great North Run.
An interview with Brendan Foster, and Olly Murs running.
Olly did very well and comes across as a very friendly lad.
Mind you, I did not know who he was until Gabby Logan told us!
