Elle, I forgot to mention.
Otzi is over 4000 years old.
There was no modern dentistry in his day.

Rusty, I know the song "Frankie and Johnny"!
I wonder if it IS about Frankie Silver - I will google it later and see what I can find out....
Got to dash now.....my husband has suddenly appeared all ready to go and visit the cat......

Ok, Elle,
I am awaiting my granddaughter. She was at P in the Dark, so should find out a bit more about what has been happening.
This granddaughter is the biz.
Should have been a blonde.
When the Good Lord was handing out ditziness, she was at the head of the queue!

It is usually eventide when you may hear faint noises from the hawthorn tree. Be watchful.

Hello Rusty !

How are things in your neck of the wood?

Seems strange not to have cycling to watch today - got rather used to it even though there has only been one week of it!

Have you any idea who you will be supporting tomorrow? As far as I am concerned, I'm just going to sit back and observe how things develop on Mountain Day One - and hope to see a bit more of Voeckler !!!
He is not even in the first 30 in GC after week one 1 !

Hi Rusty
The Ospreys are still on the nest and feeding the chick according to the RSPB,and the festival organiser said there was never going to be a problem!!!

Hello, Pigale!
I have been doing a lot of running about on the "rest day".

I do not know if you are aware, Pigale, that Ivan Basso has abandoned today.
He had a sore groin and after examination today, was found to have testicular cancer. Not so good.

Bastille Day tomorrow!
For me, has to be a French winner!
I think I shall have a wee bet on Thomas Voeckler.
Time he showed himself!
After tomorrow though, I shall support Tejay.
Time we had a new winner and at present a French winner looks unlikely, so I shall go with Tejay, whilst fearing Contador!

Good afternoon, Doglet!
That is very good news about the Strathallan ospreys.
I did not know that.
I asked my granddaughter if she had seen them when she was there, but no.
What I found incredulous was the fact that RSPB did not formally object to the concert moving in,
Did they get a back-hander, I wonder?
The organisers say anything at all, to keep the youngsters coming!

Hi, Rusty!
We are finally home again! The traffic was terrible - it took us an hour each way (usually the journey is managed within 40 minutes ) and we spent a couple of hours there with the cat sitting on my knee, having a fuss made of him!
How has your afternoon been?
What did your granddaughter have to say about P in the Dark? Could she throw any light on recent events?
I had to smile at your description of her as a ditzy "should- have -been- blonde"! (which granddaughter are we talking about?)
Are any of the girls red-headed?
Speaking of grandkids...... I've just been speaking on the phone to my elder daughter's younger son - he is 5 today!!
Very excited about his birthday and just going out to Frankie and Benny's for a birthday tea!
I can't help feeling a little bit sad as this is the first birthday that we haven't spent with him!
Are your friends still in Dundee - or have they gone home today?
The hawthorn tree is still quiet - maybe it's too early yet for the little people?

You know Rusty, I have been quite busy myself, catching up with things that got neglected for a week - and I would imagine Elle has done just the same thing, though because of a different sport!

You probably 'hate' L. Armstrong, but I'm pretty sure that he also had testicular cancer - and survived it. Still, am sorry for I. Basso. This is not too good for Contador either, although I still maintain this man is dangerous ! (i like him really and can't help supporting him)

Like you I would like to see a French win tomorrow of all days, but I WILL be more than a little bit annoyed if Voeckler does not pull his weight!

One is sure, looking at the weather forecast for the next few days, they will be hot, and then when in the Massif Central, they are likely to encounter thunder - not so good. (If I were in the race, I would refuse to put my nose outdoors! and please don't laugh, I am petrified of thunder)

Hello, Elle!
Welling must be a busy place!
I have very vaguely heard of it.
I must confess I get irked with setters who expect me to know names of London train stations and neighbourhoods. Why should I?
This is my g/d who is at Uni and works at B&Q.
She is less daft than she used to be, though.
We went to Pine Cone but it was closed!
So took the scenic route to another cafe.
She said P in the Dark was great. Never saw the ospreys though. My youngest g/d has wild red hair (Maureen O'Hara, eat your heart out!) down to her bum!
She shall be 9 next week. We call her "the wee Irish one".
Frankie and Benny?
Friends are still here, I saw them earlier, and they are being visited by friends from Aberdeen, Crieff, and Killin.
They have new wee babies to meet!
Anytime now for the hawthorn tree, I'd say.
Did you hear that the Scots runner Lynsey Sharp has disgraced herself? Been tweeting bigoted derogatory remarks. Horrible woman. I hope the Scottish Athletics folk, and her sponsors, chase her!
