Ours is about 4ft and is in a large metal tub,we had a huge one when we lived in Norfolk and the people wh bought our house chopped it down had we know what they were going to do we would brought it with us our gardener hates it and moans about mowing round it but I love it.People will steal anything our neighbour lost all his Koi carp last year and someone else lost his mower and gardening tools whilst they were on holiday even having dogs doesnt deter them

OK, yes, I well aware that people steal anything and everthing, it's not far from being the same here - though my village is relatively quite.
I had not realized the trees were in tubs, hence my question - I had a vision of a group of men up-rooting a big tree, which would hardly go unnoticed/unheard.

I am sure that having to dig up trees wouldnt stop them.We have a lot of dogs stolen too,I think they might return our two very quickly but since pedigree dogs cost so much now it is a lucrative business

Morning Rusty,

Hope you are well this morning - what's your weather like ? It did seem too bad when I looked at BBC Weathe Forecast; not so good down Southern England though.

Here is quite warm already, even though the sky is not the same immaculate blue it was yesterday.

Looking at long term forecast, I think Le Tour will be very hot in the pyrenees and the edge of Massif Centralo, but then rather thundery in the Alps - which is not nice !

Who do you support today, apart from BMC? Me, I have no idea ! I know what I would like to see, but I don't think you can call this a realistic prognostic !

Hello, Elle!
Fine day here and the forecast is good!
The article I read about Miss Hingis, stated she received a two year ban from Wimbledon, which I thought a bit suspicious.
Surely a ban would come from a tennis authority?
Now drug taking in sport is very complex as well as very common. My knowledge of it is insufficient to make an informed opinion, though I am dead against cheats.
The main reason I abandoned watching professional football, where there is no integrity, and constant cheating from the first whistle. It is accepted now, though. I do not accept professional football as a sport.
Others may, not me.
What I have read, and I am open to be corrected by a knowledgeable person. Someone who takes steroids during training will keep the muscle gain etc for good.
So, should a former steroid user compete against a clean athlete. Not, for me. There is a huge industry making programmes for athletes in most sports, to keep them just on the safe side of the dope testers.

I am trying to visualise Monica Seles, but can't.
My brain sees Maureen Connolly!! Thank you, Kenyatta for putting me right.
And you never heard of Queen Esther Marrow!!!
Me either. I do know the Harlem Globetrotters and Sweet Georgia Brown though!
Elle, it is perfectly OK to trill a pleasant "good morning" in the direction of the hawthorn tree...but no gallumphing!

Good morning, Pigalle!
My weather is fine and bright and unfortunately the breeze has dropped.
I hope for good weather for the rest of the Tour. For the riders and spectators and the excellent folk bringing us pictures.
I really do hope Tejay is in yellow tonight. So, good luck, BMC!
I love the team time trial. Eyeballs out!
I would think Orica GreenEDGE will just about win. It is a hilly course and planning is essential.
The clock stops on the fifth rider, so best to use up the other four before the last kilometer. That is, if there are still nine riders left in your team!
It is going to be brutal!
