Elle and Pigale, update.
Just had an email from Cherry at the loch.
She says,
"High winds, driving rain and flooding. No power, and electrician working hard to sort the problem. Some power back on, and I am typing this from a darkened office.
Thank you for your patience."
I am not too far from the loch and have the same weather conditions.
But I have not had a power cut.
Hope they can sort things out!

Hello Elle and Rusty,

Only just back from town and picture is still infra red camera!

It has just started to rain lightly, we might have some thunder, and then rain on and off today and overnight; temps remaining above 10C
until Saturday night when the drop will start. That's for me here,
but wind for North coast and Normandy, and snow due there before
we have some here - they will also have more than us.

It is worrying about the camera, particularly since they reckoned
Laddie could arrive today! Poor show, even if they can't help
the bad weather conditions.
There were some very windy days during the Summer last year, and
we still had a picture!

Hi, Rusty!
It isn't looking hopeful for our being able to follow Lassie and Laddie, and their chicks, throughout the season is it?
I accept that the weather situation is foul at the moment , but there must have been several suitable occasions when conditions were more favourable - and all these problems could have been dealt with then?
Are you en route for Miss ATW's way home from work - or at least not far from where she lives?
Because if so, it may be safe enough for her to call and see you?
It would be a pity for you both to miss out on a visit!
I am going great guns here......zipping through all my jobs (so far, that is......let's not tempt providence here!) with great aplomb and efficiency!
Whom do you fancy in the racing today?

Hello, Pigale!
It is warm(ish) and sunny here with the temperature just scraping into double figures!
But tomorrow we are told that we shall have light snow ALL day......and the temp will drop to 0C.
A big change...... fingers crossed it never happens.....!
I hope your weather remains tolerable.

Hello, Pigale!
The loch has posted a Tweet on Twitter.
Basically saying it is the weather's fault!
But let's hope they can sort it out!

Hello, Elle,
Yes, these problems at the loch should have been addressed ages ago!
With very heavy rain, flooding is bound to happen beside a loch!
I have not contacted Miss ATW, but shall do so shortly.
She has to pass home on her way to see me.
Her work and my house are at opposite ends of the city.
Today is Gold Cup day!
The Gold Cup is the pinnacle of jump racing.
Everyone wants to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Willie Mullins has won everything in racing, but he has not won the Gold Cup....yet!
So....I am torn between Willie's "Killultagh Vic" and Jessica Harrington's "Our Duke".
Decisions!!
It is quite an open race and the favourite, "Might Bite", is trained by Nicky Henderson, (Nicky is another favourite of mine!)
But I am being drawn more towards Jess and "Our Duke".
We shall see!

Hello Rusty,

Sorry for delay - was with my friends who have just left now.

Bad weather or no bad weather, I nonetheless sent them yet
another email telling them my thoughts - which are not very kind!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am so sorry for the delay in replying......
I have been unable to access the computer as my husband has decided to reorganise the corner of the lounge, where my work station stands in an alcove.
I am snatching five minutes, whilst he has gone to fetch something......than I shall have to surrender my position again!
( I have to admit his ideas will make the corner look better!)
Did you manage to get in touch with Miss ATW?
What is the verdict? Is she still coming to see you ?
Your "decision" over whom to support over the Gold Cup race this afternoon sounds to be a difficult one?
Have you decided to place a small bet on the possible outcome?
Apart from that....if you have a choice of favourite, then I guess it will not matter too much who wins?
Oops, I think my time is up.......
I shall return later, when my husband has finished working here.
Enjoy the racing!

Hello, Pigale!
Well done on telling them off!
I have told them what I think, too.
The weather is very wet and wild here.
I imagine that will complicate matters at the loch.
There are no power cuts in that area, so it must be localised at the loch.
Their own equipment failing, I think.
Not so good!

While I am disappointed that the osprey cam isn't working very well, we should remember that the whole operation is funded by voluntary contributions, as far as I know.
The problems can't be rectified by just anybody and access is a problem. No doubt the specialists are in high demand.
I would expect that the staff have better things to do than replying to emails telling them what they obviously know.
Give them a break!

Hello, Kenyatta.
The webcam is not working at all, never mind "very well".
And it will not be working over the weekend.
There have been problems since before Christmas with the webcam.
These issues should have been addressed long ago.
As one who has been in fairly regular contact with the rangers since last year, may I say that all contact with them has been well received.

Hello, Elle!
Hope your computer station is all fine, now.
Miss ATW has just left.
She is off on her travels on Monday, to Australia.
I went with Jess Harrington's horse.
He ran well, but the the winner was Native River, who was super!
So, that's it for another year!
Weather is wild here!
