Hello, Pigale.
Go into "Settings", then "keyboard settings".
There are several options there.
Select the one you prefer, and "Save" it.

Hello, Pigale!
It is simply a division between two houses! There must be houses all over England standing next to each other like this?
We live in a semi-detached house, but we are attached to the house on our other side.... the passage way (for want of a better word) lies between us and the other set of semis on our other side.
It has never proved a problem before.
The land belongs to the houseowners (yes, it would half and half)but the access is considered communal as it is a shared access to the back gardens.
Thames Water is making it a technical issue!
It would not have been a problem had the new owner moved in.....but no- one has a contact number for him!
However, TW is contacting the Land Registry to obtain his details.
Hopefully, progress will be made soon!

Elle,
I have looked up Chambers regarding 21d
They give "heart" as a term of endearment.
And "love" is a term of endearment.
So, I suggest that is how it works.
I do not know "heart" as a term of endearment, but possibly the setter does?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, well, I didn't literally mean "shouting" at full volume!
"Offering encouragement" sounds much better!
I wouldn't have got those clues, had I struggled until the cows came home.
Thank you.
I cannot see how "heart" is "love"?
And I have consulted Anne B, but she throws no light on the problem.

Hello, Elle,
Think posts crossed.
Chambers has "heart" as a term of endearment.
And "love" is a term of endearment.
If it is not that, then I am stuck, and shall give best to the setter!

Hi, Rusty!
Our last posts crossed!
I suppose there is "dear heart" and "sweetheart", but I have never heard the isolated word "heart" used as a term of endearment?
Very strange!

Hello Rusty and Elle,

Thank you for the advice Rusty, but for unknown reasons, it has
rectified itself when I switched off the PC and switched it on
again - always a useful trick as you so often mention!

Computers really do have a mind of their own!

Elle, I am sure things will go well soon - try not to worry;

You have not answered about doggy? Did you suspect something
was amiss before going to the vet? Was the dog looking uncomfortable?

There again, things will be cleared as they always have done in the
past.

Well done, Pigale!
Yes, the off/on ploy is often successful!

Hello, Elle!
Maybe "heart" is a term of endearment wherever the setter hales from.
And it passed Mr Rogan's scrutiny, so however it actually parses, it must be fine, I think.

Hi, Rusty!
We have crossed a second time, Rusty!
I shall abandon "heart" and "love" to the big black sin bin in the sky.......
I have no idea of the reasoning behind this!
I am away to organise dinner......
Have a good time with your son.

Hello, Pigale!
Sorry......no, the dog had appeared to be fine.
We were just going to the vets for her routine check......and the expressing of her anal glands.
Anyway, back again in a week, and hopefully, the inflammation will
have subsided by then.
