Good morning, Rusty!
Well, one advantage in postponing both the downhill skiing...and your outing with the girls......... is that both then remain something to look forward to!
As Pollyanna would say, you can be "glad" about that!
And what a lovely day we have here....
I have just taken a turn round the garden with the dog..........the sun is shining, the sky is blue..........
I may be misquoting from Browning's "Pippa's Song...... but I think it goes .......

THE year 's at the spring,
And day 's at the morn;
Morning 's at seven;
The hill-side 's dew-pearl'd;
The lark 's on the wing; 5
The snail 's on the thorn;
God 's in His heaven—
All 's right with the world!

Apologies for any inaccuracies!
The day may even turn out a tad warmer than of late.....the forecast says we shall hit a high of 5C by midday!
And now, having waxed lyrical at this early hour, I shall go and poach me an egg!

Hello, Elle!
I liked Pollyanna!
The downhill is dangerous enough without the high winds!
This often happens during the racing season.
I do not know your poem, especially "the snail's on the thorn" bit!
It is a fine day, though!
I had grilled sausages earlier!
Wonder if it's near dinner-time yet!

New high from Amazon! I had a Email this morning saying "As you have purchased similar items in the past, you may be interested in...

THE GREAT LAKES SUITE ~ WADADA LEO SMITH

offered at the bargain price of £1809.29

A Google search found another site offering it at £399, then another at a more boring £13.28!

Hi, Rusty!
My plan - now that I have devoured my poached egg on toast - is to have a coffee and take a look at the Everyman puzzle!
Later , when the temperature warms up towards lunch time, we shall go for a walk!
I think that verse comes from Robert Browning's longer version of "Pippa Passes".
I shall look it up........
Yes, Pollyanna had a good idea there, with her "glad game".......
I like sausages! especially with lot of fried potatoes and onions!
What replacement plans do you have for today, if no skiing or bacon rolls?

Hello, Chris!
One often sees these weird discrepancies in prices on Amazon....
I wonder does anyone ever buy at an inflated rate? maybe under the impression that the article has greater value because of its high price?
Surely not........

Hello, Elle!
I have no plans for today, now, but noticed a radiator pipe could do with a lick of paint, if I have any!
Why a "lick" of paint?
Your fried potatoes and onions are making me hungry!
I might go into the Crossword Club and see if there are any puzzles to do. Maybe!

I wondered what the '5' was doing in your quote Elle.
This is copied and pasted from a website which shows the same.

THE YEAR ’S at the spring,
And day ’s at the morn;
Morning ’s at seven;
The hill-side ’s dew-pearl’d;
The lark ’s on the wing; 5
The snail ’s on the thorn;
God ’s in His heaven—
All ’s right with the world!

Well, yes, obviously I know that , Cerasus, since I was the one who copied and pasted it!
Now what I have been trying to find are the verses in their entirety... written by Robert Browning as a verse drama called "Pippa Passes" ........
I have found this but it doesn't give a lot of information.......
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Pippa-Passes
The "Pippa's Song" comes from there, but as I said previously I don't know whereabouts or in what sequence?

Hi, Rusty!
There are a few references using "lick", aren't there?
" a lick and a promise"; "to lick into shape"?
I've been trying to find Browning's "Pippa Passes" in its entirety - I do not think I am keying in the right reference words - I'm not very good at this research lark!
I am having a strong sense of (delayed) deja vu, though....a dim memory of our talking about this once before?
I don't think I found what I was looking for then, either!
I wish I could find the context of "Pippa's Song" ........
I shall get my daughter onto it!
What do you mean by "The Crossword Club"?
Is this something for which you are paying a subscription?
Or are you meaning Ash's crossword puzzles on here?
(It was your mention of the sausages for your breakfast that set me off along the road of onions and potatoes.........!)

I have found this, Elle , for you to peruse, but I am away with the dogs who are both eager to have a run in the fields.

Hello, Elle!
A cow's lick!
Now, as someone who does not see the point of poetry, I am afraid I can be of little help in your search for Pippa Passes.
But, I would suggest you give it a spin on Amazon.
They will have it for sure!
I may have told you, but I pay for my Mon to Sat copy of The Times by direct debit.
It is much cheaper that way.
There are various perks added to it.
One is free membership of The Times Crossword Club.
Plenty of puzzles there and competitions etc.
(They want a clue for "weather forecast" this week.)
And Mr Rogan's top 5 clues of the week.
I very rarely go into the Crossword Club.
The daily puzzle is plenty for me.
No, nothing to do with Ash.
