Hi, Rusty!
They are mainly books I read many years ago........
Although I did reread - and greatly enjoy - "Jane Eyre" only fairly recently.
I would not expect you to like them anyway, Rusty, even if you did enjoy reading fiction, as I think their main attraction would be to a woman reader?
( This is not intended as a sexist remark, if anyone should take it amiss!)
No, no Dion Dublin on my horizons yet!
A lot of banging noises... and a full skip already replaced with a second empty one
Fortunately , the house under reconstruction - although a semi - is not attached to ours, but to the house on its other side!
We have blissful space between us!
Shepherds' Pie for dinner!

Hello, Elle!
I do not think that is a sexist remark, but a simple fact
Be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.
I have not come across the surname "Eyre" before?
This house next door to you seems to be getting the full treatment!
You will perhaps get a tour when it is finished?
I had two boiled hen's eggs for my tea, and coconut sort of biscuit thingies for afters.
I am replete!
Mind you, I like Shepherds' Pie.
Good simple food!

Hi, Rusty!
Our friends on the other side of us are now beginning to empty out their father's house.
Once that is done, it too will be on the market.
I think they plan to sell it as it is...without doing it up for Sale purposes.
We shall be between a rock and a hard place...or whatever expression one chooses, to depict our situation.
It is a strange feeling , having had the same neighbours for very many years!
Still, life moves on.......
Younger daughter and family are going away for the weekend....it is the start to half term tomorrow with an "Inset" day........and they fancied a break!
I hope the weather is kind to them!

And life does move on.
Where is your daughter heading for a break?

Hi, Rusty!
Now you are asking me..........where is my head at?
I think my daughter told me that they are heading for a special event at Alton Towers WaterPark?
There is something about the main part of Alton Towers being closed........ but there being a special weekend for young children ?
It is something along these lines, anyway....!
They are meeting up with her best friend and family, so there will be three young boys together!
Going tomorrow...staying two nights in a hotel...and returning home on Sunday.
Yes, a nice break!
That sounds to be good catch your son made!
You will be pleased to see the photo!

It is a fine photo.
My son is kneeling in the river holding the salmon for a quick photo before he releases it.
It appears to be straight in from sea.

He is back at work tomorrow.
Well I have the Games tomorrow.
I am looking forward to it!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, there is coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games on BBC1 at 10.30am through till 1.30pm, so I shall get to see some of it.
I haven't checked out next week's viewings yet?
But I am presuming there will be adequate coverage.
Will you be watching it on EuroSport , though ?
I am not as interested in the Winter events as you are, though.
I cannot wait until summer athletics and tennis starts........that is more to my liking!

Hello, Elle!
There is a lot of Winter Olympics being transmitted on BBC1 and BBC2, every day I think.
Probably Red Button, too.
If you go to BBC website they have an Olympic page with all the times of the events and some articles on competitors. (Several British ones, too)
Probably in BBC Sport website.
The problem is, most of the events will be held during our night time, like the Aussie Open!
I shall probably watch on Eurosport.
I have the events I am mainly interested in, entered in my diary, and I just may have a wee bet on one or two, just for fun!
Will have a wee bet on Eve Muirhead's rink, in the curling, but it will be tough, although Eve is reigning European Champion.
Many of the events I do not know, like "slopestyle", and "half-pipe", but I am quite up on the Alpine events, and am looking forward to seeing Elise Christie in the speed skating, and the Nigerian women in the bobsleigh event.
It will be great!

Not so today!
However, she is now scrubbed dry and clean!!
How is it up your way?
I expect you have been out for your paper long since.....and are now back home again ready to watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony?
Yes, I have found - and saved - the BBC Sports page........thank you!
I just need a coffee......and my Granny Smith apple and a chunk of Cheddar cheese!

Great morning here, blue skies and hard frost!
I have the Olympics on BBC, and half an eye on Bloomberg seeing what the stock markets are doing!
Nice to see Chemmy Alcott with Clare Balding.
You should get plenty info on BBC Olympics web page.
Finished my puzzle.
Another first class one by the setter!
25a is a new word for me.
I knew it with an "a" on the end!
