Good morning, Rusty!
Thank you for the good wishes!
It is a cold , bright day here.
There were four of us in our bed last night!
The cat because he always sleeps with us...and the dog because she was so terrified that she wouldn't leave our side, as the local fireworks went on well into the small hours!
We watched (on TV) the fireworks display at midnight by the London Eye - a fantastic performance - whilst phoning and texting family and friends.
Yes, I have BBC iPlayer on my computer - I shall look up your ceilidh later.
Now for our big family celebration of both the New Year and my husband's birthday........!

Happy New Year to everyone!

Good morning, Elle!
A fine morning here, too.
Hope your day goes well!
If you do decide to watch the ceilidh on Alba, remember it is all in Gaelic!
Hopefully it will go up on You Tube later today!

Good evening, Rusty!
We have had a lovely day!
Hectic....and exhausting......but wonderful!
It was great to see family and friends all meeting up together, especially on such a special occasion.
The grandchildren enjoyed themselves too, and all played well together.
All finally gone home now......
How about you?
Have you had a nice day?

Thank you, Pigale!
Yes, everyone had a great time.
I shall sleep for a week!

Good evening, Elle!
Great to hear your day turned out well!
You will be worn out!
I have had a canny day!
I watched bits of the ceilidh on Skye.
Finished my puzzle, too.
Did it on-line.
Quite a good one.
One or two parses escaped me, though.
Was there a Hobbit called Took, was one of them?
I presumed there was, and everything seemed to fit.
And I got "Congratulations" when I finished, so all must be well!

Hi, Rusty!
I'm ''nicely tired' , if you know what I mean!
And everyone helped!
It was a good day!
Our old neighbour and his daughter - good friends - came.
My daughter brought a "surprise" birthday cake.... the two elder grandchildren carried it in ....... with the lights off...... and the candles already lit!
My husband was delighted!
Yes, Peregrine Took, commonly know as Pippin....became involved in helping Frodo Baggins in one of his schemes or some such.....
I have the books of "Lord of the Rings" somewhere........
I never even got as far as printing out the crosswords, though, today !

Hello, Elle!
That's grand your day went well!
And especially good for your husband!
Well done!
I am wearying a bit, too, after having a late night, but there's only one Hogmanay each year to enjoy!
Now, Elle, "Lord if the Rings" is a book/s I have not read.
Just forget today's crosswords, plenty more ahead, I'm sure.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, you must have been very late, with going first footing!
What time did you get to bed?
I am disappointed you were not asked to sing, though!
Have you looked on Amazon to see whether there are any DVDs that you fancy?

Hello, Elle!
Went to bed around 2.30, late enough for me!
I am disappointed I did not get to sing, too!
Was right in the mood to belt out "The Holy Ground"!
Should have gone to Skye!
Have you found the ceilidh, yet?
Not looked at Amazon, yet.
I shall make a wee list of things that interest me and see what I can find.
Eddy Merckx was my great cycling hero, wonder if there is a DVD on him?
And an Andre Rieu concert?
Will explore tomorrow.
