Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I do know that you are not good at sitting still for a long time!
But this is just why I thought the DVD player might be a way forward, do you see?
(You can watch in small doses and do not need to stay sitting either!)
Yes, give it a try.......it will please the girls.
I think browsing Amazon is a good idea!
Now, I thought today's 15 x15 was a good one?
I finished it (bar one or possibly "iffy" parses ) in fairly quick time...... for me!
I wonder how my poorly children and grandson are coping?
My son has flu....he is off work.....and my elder daughter and younger grandson have high temperatures and coughs and colds (maybe "flu", too?)
Oh dear!

Hello, Pigale!
I have never bought secondhand DVDs or CDs.
I suppose, at the back of my mind, I always wondered how damaged they might be...and whether they might affect my player?
But looking at the prices tonight, when I was searching for "The Quiet Man", I was astonished by what good bargains there are!
I shall maybe "indulge".....!

Hello, Elle!
I would find watching a whole movie an ordeal.
But, I shall try....if I can get the player to work!
I am sure there will be DVD's of things other than movies?
The Andre Rieu one should be good.
He is regularly on the Sky Arts channel.
Are there any Hogmanay shows on tomorrow, I wonder?
No Andy Stewart anyway!

Elle, if a DVD/CD is faulty, you just return it - they do not pay
the vendor straightaway and you have time to send it back.
(perhaps not 6 months later though!)

Sorry to hear about your family's health - it may be just as well
that they had dropped any idea of travelling for the week-end/birthday
celebrations - better for them and for other members present, your
husband in particular!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, you can get documentaries, for instance, on DVD.
I know that David Attenborough's "Blue Planet" is so shown, as I stumbled across it when I was looking for Maureen O'Hara!
I am sure that there will be definitely be some DVDs that you will enjoy watching.
But it's a "no" to the prospect of any Hogmanay shows on the television!
Leastways not on BBC or ITV - or not what you or I would term a New Year show!
Those days are long gone!
We have heavy rain now! and it's going on till nearly lunchtime tomorrow, so says the forecast!
Maybe we shall delay tomorrow's walk till midday!

Hello, Pigale!
Does one have to pay to return goods to Amazon?
I've never had to do this!
Yes, you are right.... the bad weather has undoubtedly saved the rest of the family from germs!

I have never had to pay for any return on Amazon;
You go My Orders, select the one you want to return and click
on the relevant 'button' - You then just give any reason you want -
most popular is 'not needed anymore' or 'does not fit/suit' etc.

They then immedately issue a return label, and you follow the
instructions; The Post takes your parcel and put their stamp on
the code bar of your own half of the label.

It takes longer to explain than it actually takes to do it! you
get your money back almost instantly ( I reckon they work closely
withthe Post Office and the moment the code bar is read, within
a half day, your account is recredited. Works very well.

Hello, Elle!
I shall maybe see if there is any DVD's on Roosevelt's speeches, or things like that.
May get The Green Mile and see Mr Jingles again!

I doubt there will be any Hogmanay shows on BBC.
If you go on their website, Sports section, they are still carrying reports on the Rio Olympics!
The BBC needs overhauled.
Their website is awful.

Good morning, Rusty!
Hopefully, I shall catch you before you go a-visiting!
It is a miserable day here - raining heavily as forecast!
The winds have died down though, so that is good.
Our walk will be delayed until middayish, when the rain is supposed to stop!!
We are taking it easy today, as tomorrow will be hectic with family and friends here.
I am drinking coffee - and have just finished the Everyman!
I shall have to wait for the Times crossword until Sainsburys opens!
Have a good morning with your family.

Good morning, Elle!
Wet and windy in my neck of the woods!
I am just home.
Been to ASDA, Tesco (bought a fine kettle there) and visited my daughter-in-law.
Home for the day now, anticipating "the bells"!
Both ASDA and Tesco were quiet, but the staff said they would be mobbed from 10 o'clock, when they can sell alcohol.
Is Sainsbury's your local store?
We have one but it is at the opposite end of the town from me.
Been in once, I think!

Hi, Rusty!
It is good that you bought your kettle - is it the same model as before?
Yes, Sainsburys is my preferred local store.....and I can walk to it.......although (a newer) Aldi is a tad nearer.
We also have a bigger Sainsburys a short drive away.
Tesco is fairly local, but that also involves driving.
Our shops (apart from the local "corner shop") do not open until 11am, .as I will have mentioned previously.
Hence the wait for the Sunday paper!
Right, we are away out now for a walk with the dog!
Back in a bit!

Hello, Elle!
No, a different model of kettle.
It is fine!
I have not been in an Aldi store.
Tay Road Bridge is closed to all traffic and pedestrians.
High winds!
Hope it is not closed for too long.
My son is at work in Fife and it would be a long drive home for him.
